| i, too have this problem-- with my ficus trees under the window. The
kittens also LOVE aloe vera, which I think is harmless. They chew off
pieces and parade around the apartment, leaving parts of the plant
strewn all over the place.

| You have two problems;
1. is the plant actually poisonous to the cat -- somewhere in here
there is a list of poisonous plants.
2. mucnching and throwing up anyway. Get one of these dishes
of grass/oats that are sold in pet stores; it will be a treat
and may distract the cat from the "real" plant.
What does the plant liook like? Maybe we can help id it.
Or you might take a bit of it to a gardening place and ask.

| Since the plant is in the bathroom, close the door when you are
not there. If the cat's litter box is also in the bathroom, move
it for the time being.
Then, when you are there, leave the bathroom door open and when
the cat starts to chew, squirt him heavily with your C.A.T. Be
consistent about always squirting whenever he gets near the plant.
I squirt them for getting too close, that way the cat and I don't
have to argue over semantics ("I wasn't going to bite the leaves
mom, really, I was just smelling them")

Thanks Jo. We do keep the door closed when we're not there
but it's upstairs so it's hard to tell when she's chomping
on it. And she does give me that face.... =)

Try some Bitter Apple.... it won't hurt the plants, but cats don't like
the taste (well, most cats that is.... I have one who would drink the
bottle if we let her)

| I received a catalog in the mail that listed the product, Outright Plant
Protector, advertised as "a safe-but-unpleasant tasting formula" spray.
Contact me if you would like the address.
I also happened to be listening to an animal behaviorist on WBZ last week,
and he mentioned that cats are thwarted by the smell of Jean Nat. I have
no idea what it might do to the plant, however.

| HeH,HEH.. I had (the operative word being had) 2 very pretty plants
for at least 5 years plus.. and no one ever bothered with them...
UNTIL. a couple of Sundays ago. I had gone out.. and when I returned
those 2 poor plants were overturned and we had soil, leaves.. et all
EVERYWHERE.. Preschie who has th most adorable white "gloves" on her
little paws.. was covered from paw to head with potting soil.. and
those little white gloves were a dark shade of grey.. Happy who
is a normally considered to be be a "blue cream was also very
"grey " in color.. she had poting soil on her ear tufts,,
EVERYWHERE!!!.. I stood there with my mouth open.. looking a little
"potting soil footprints all over the place.. and those 2 little
dickens's were so "nonchlant so to speak.. those 2 dirt covered faces
looked up at me.. Mummy, you are back,, did you have a nice time.,...?
"we sure did.. HEY WADDA YA MEAN WE GOTTA HAVE BATHES.. PUT ME
DOWN..!! Hmm.. I guess now that HRH is not there to "keep"
things in order.." I can probably "expect more " of these little
incidents.. but I did chuckle (alot).. I could just imagine HRH
"observing" that little escapade from heaven and I can just
hear and see her HARUMPHING in disdain.. HEH_HEH..
Kate.. who is still chuckling..

Murrrpphhhh This is Spots Spingler,
I don't know what you humans are all upset about. If you don't want us
to eat salad, don't leave plants around where we can ge into them!!!
After all a cat has to have something to do between motorcycle rallys
and poker games. (In case any of you other kitties need something to
do try rearranging all of the throw rugs in the house, it's lots of fun
and will drive your human crazy!!)
I prefer to think of my self as an interior re-decorator. Feline
Wrecking Crew indeed!!! MUUURRRPPPHHHHhhhhhhhhh.....

Deb,
Definately, The FIRM has been at my house a number of times trying to
straighten out this "probate problem". I think this is going to get
VERY EXPENSIVE. Panther is such a stickler for details, and there is
still the issue of the "missing tiara." If Argus starts to order
european suits and russian caviar, I think you know who will be paying
for it. Right Kate???

| Yes, the Missing Tiara has become a major issue.. not to mention the
fact.. that the ROYAL ROBES and Jewelry are also missing!!!!! and
worse yet.. I suspect I will never be able to get my Dec feliner
badge back until all this is settled... I did request from
Princess Panther.."a temporary right to use authorization for next
weekend..". I suspect I may be denied.. sigh... But I will
tell all of you.. That I do have in my possession "a bribe"
er um .. I mean " token" for Princess Panther Jane and Spots..
that I will give to their mummy.. Hopefully this may "aid"
my cause....
I can tell you that I believe THE FIRM... will definitley
show "a huge profit"after this.. heh-heh..

| I hate to be indelicate here, but there is an old saying "you can't
take it with you". AJP, Esq made it possible for HRH to do just that,
or at least as far as the silk robes and tiara. You see, HRH was afraid
that St. Peter might not recognize her without them and might have to
wait her turn in line. She wanted to make a proper entrance, but wanted
God to know of her arrival immediatly so that she, er, they could begin
planning the reorg of heaven.
Well, now I know where the disosable silk lobster bibs came from...

Do you know if these folks could use a good computer programmer?
Sounds like their business is doing alot better than DEC. Perhaps
I'd have a more secure position with THE FIRM.

is an interesting concept.. I can just see him now "at the

to HRH ..complete with "slides" ,handouts.. etc...I do wonder
if "he offered a "moneyback guarantee"... and I suspect that
the "howtos" maybe released soon on an alternate media type?..
perhaps for viewing by the general population.. hmm..
Nancy.. I suspect "THE FIRM" .. may end up in the top ten
of the fortune500..
