On monday morning I had a white cat w/gray spots on my front porch. This cat was hit by a car sometime in the night or early morning. I brought it to the vet in Ayer, it is in stable condition. I am trying to find the owner, I have asked some of my neighbors, and nobody seems to know who the cat belongs to. The vet said that they will fix her up the best they can do, and then try to find him/her a new home. I called last night and they haven't done any tests yet to see if he/she had internal problems. I will call again tonight. I'm not sure if anyone would call the vet if they were missing a cat. Maybe I will make a poster and pin it on the wall at the store down the street. If anyone knows anybody from Ayer that is missing a cat, please have then call the Vet in Ayer,(not even sure of the name). Will get that info tonight and post it tomorrow. I have 3 cats of my own or I would keep this one. I will donate some money to the vet for expenses. The state also donates $20. jane

Are you close to Devens? just wondered if its a base cat.

Yes, I do live near Ft. Devens.
The vet said that if they get a stray cat, the state gives them
$20 toward either putting it to sleep or mending wounds and finding
a new home. I am not sure how it works.

To tell the truth, I am not sure who the vet is. I live in Ayer and
know where the vet is located, but never really noticed the name.
It may not be the state but could be the spca. You can call and ask.

I only know of one vet in Ayer. It's a small office shared by two
vets, Chester Gleason and a woman who's name I can't recall. The
name of the place is Ayer Animal Medical Center (I think). Anyway,
this should be enough info to find them.
