3919.0. ""The cat lady - information freely given...."" by BOOVX1::MANDILE () Mon Aug 20 1990 10:49
The word gets around if your a "cat person"!! :-)
I had the pleasure of instructing one of the neighbors'
son's friend on how to care for a newborn kitten. He
took it when the owner of the junkyard threatened to shoot it.
The mother disappeared, and the rest of the litter died from
exposure, etc. Nice junkyard guy, huh?
I'd say she (grey/cream/white SH) is about 2-3 wks old.
Eyes are open, but not focusing yet. She ate well from a bottle,
and when the tummy was rubbed, she purred & pee-ed. No BM yet,
I think because she had no food in her tract. I had her in my
lap for two hours last night. I could feel the "bonding"!! :-)
She seems to be in good shape, and I "volunteered" my help if
he needs it, or someone to do evening "kittysitting" as his mom
doesn't know how/want to care for it. I'll be getting updates on
her progress. The boy works during the day, so my neighbors son
has the "dayshift".
I was pleasantly surprised to see a 17 yr old with such a caring
attitude. It makes up for all the bad stories....

| YUP, it sure does make you feel good when a teenager will take time to
care for an animal.
If my daughter had her way, I would be taking in ALL the strays in the
neighborhood......
Keep us informed, pretty please.....

| also very glad to hear of a teen--and a *male* at that (macho-ness
being very important to boys that age)--who is so concerned and caring.
you're right--it makes up a lot for the others...
