    Oh, Kate - I'm so sorry to hear this.  It's a good thing I'm home,
    'cause the tears are definitely flowing.  I guess the time has to come
    eventually for all of our babies, but at least you'll have lots of
    beautiful memories to comfort you.

    I can't believe what I am reading.  Kate, please accept my hearfelt
    condolensces on the passing of HRH.  Think fondly and always remember
    the special memories and stories you shared with us... I have always

    You know how I feel.  Dear Gentle Empress Pookie is not far away.  We
    will miss her though.  Panther Jane slept with me last night for the
    first time all summer.  She is sad too.

    I won't be able to face you without crying as I am right now.  I just
    want to say that I'm very sorry this day has had to come - but you did
    the right thing.  Pookie had a wonderful, lengthy life and she is now 
    at peace & free of any pain that she may have been suffering.

    Thank you all very much....HRH  also says thank you all..
    I will tell you that last nite was very difficult.. but I knew
    in my "heart" that it was best.. I had made Allison
    a promise  that if she geave me Pookie.. she would have good
    life,, and that means a  good quality of life.. and in the
    last month or so... she was not "enjoying that quality of life"..
    We had tried "everything " in the last month medically
    possible to aid Pookie in maintaining that good quality..
    but she had decided that she  did not want  to  eat
    her special diet ,, RIGHT SUE AND CIN....I am happy
    that she was able to maintain that "level of dignity
    she was soooooooooo famous for.. Her Personal
    Physican.. and his new "associate".. have been
    wonderful.. thru all this.. .. I will call Allison
    tonite or tomorrow.. and let her know that I did
    the "right thing" by HRH.. She did have a wonderful
    life.. she won her 1st show at 4 monthes... and gave
    Allison 8 wonderful babies.. Simbelairs and Jovans..
    (she  had 3 litters in her  lifetime..  she was
    a "tad choosy about her husbands .... insert grin here..)
    And and Cin and Sue will tell you all.. she did a
    wonderful job "raising Preschie".. and she left
    knowing that Happy would take good care of Preschie..
    Dr Clough was not on last nite but Dr Callahan
    was.. HRH "trained him" well over the
    last month.. Dr Clough has been her personal
    phyiscan ever since she was a "child".. and I
    know over the last month.. this was difficult
    from  him too.. and The staff has been wonderful
    to HRH and I .. Pat and Sylvia were on last  nite.
    and they wonderful.. ..
     Yes Sue. I do understand.. please give Panther Jane
    a hug for me.. I will tell you that Preschie
    will be at Bridge tomorrow.. but I did hear tell..
    that she feels that she  should also get time
    to er um join the "crew in the playroom.. I suspect,,
    she wants time between  "hands to do  er um her
    numbers and have her Rootbeer..
    .. Cin Gerry was  just great last nite.. she made that very long
    drive from Fitchburg to Nashua to Merrimack.. and back..
    and we had tea..  I am on a vacation day tomorrow..
    (it had been planned for awhile..) But what is important
    is that  HRH is at peace .... Thank you...

    I'm very sorry.  I lost Hector to prolonged kidney failure in the
    spring.  Kidney disease is a horrible thing.

      So sorry to here about HRH.  You were so brave to be with her till
      the end.  I wish I could have done that for Cinamon but I wasn't
      strong enough.  I still feel guilty now and hope that I can have
      your strength next time I face such a situation.

    My heart goes out to you.  We have enjoyed your stories very much and
    will miss hearing about HRH.  My Ruby has been paying close attention
    too, to see if she can become the Cinderella Kitty and find her Prince!

    Oh Kate, my heart aches for you and the tears flow.  You were both
    blessed to have had each other.  I'm so glad that Cin could be there
    for you. It is such a difficult decision to make, and we know in
    our hearts when it is the appropriate thing to do.

    	Dukie left us of his own will instead of leaving us with
    	the choice to face.  If we had had to face it, I don't

Oh, Kate, I'm so sorry.  Heaven is greatly enriched by HRH, who is probably
having the entire place redecorated.  I feel privileged that I actually got
to touch her at Allison years ago.  It's not everyone who was granted such
a great honour.

I finally am composed enough to write this little note as I've just spent
the past half hour slobbering in the ladies room and trying to explain to
20 Japanese customers why I'm so upset.  The Countess made all of us smile
and continues to bring me happiness when I picture her bossing God around
"Well, I just don't know, God, but this whole place needs decorating...anyone
seen Laura Ashley...perhaps a little floral print on this cloud, a little
silk moire on this mountain...".  Thanks, Pook, I feel much better...

I'm on vaca tomorrow, too.  If you want some moral support I'd love to
get together over a box of tissues.

I'll remember you in my prayers...

    Whatever will we do without HRH!  I am sitting here hoping that no
    one comes into my office until I can compose myself because I don't
    think I could explain quite why I'm sitting here crying like this.
    
    We are so sorry to hear of HRH's passing.  You were very brave and
    obviously loved her very much to help her on her way.  She couldn't
    have had a better mommy.
    
    How would you like HRH listed on the Silver lining Memorial.  She
    must have a full royal name ;-)

    I saw Kate at the show in Manchester on Saturday and per her request
    HRH will be listed as:
    
    HRH POOKIE THE PERSIAN on this quarter's Silver Lining Memorial.
    
    Also, after thinking about it I decided I"d like to comemmorate HRH
    in some way by naming one of the kittens after her and all the
    wonderful stories.  Since only one of the folds seems at all related
    to royalty I decided to go the other way.  Whenever there was talk
    of a royal activity we always had to watch out for Happy and the other
    Biker Kitties.  So for that reason the little Brown tabby folded ear
    female is now named:
    
    Putiput's CC Rider
    
    Now Andy, what was that great name we came up with:
    
    Harley Riding H?????        (HRH!)

     It was also very nice to see  all of you at the show this weekend..
    I enjoyed our tete-a-tetes..
      Nancy, HRH will be honored indeed!!!!!....She would definiftely
      approve of her namesakes.. as well as how we listed her name
      in the SLM..as a matter of fact on her "papers.. her registered
    name is listed in Capitol letters.... which figures..
       Things are ok.. as those who were at the show know..
    Friday Preschie went to Bridge.. she left with a 6 pack of Rootbeer
    under one arm.. and a split of Champagne under the other..(and
    no she was not driving.. she is only allowed to ride her
    3 -wheeler in the house.. and Happy will not let her use
    the motorcycle.. she had HRH'S Tiara on. along with her
    pearls, and HRH's Ermine trimmed robe..  (I thought it was
     tad  "overstated..) she also had on red lace gloves(no fingers)
    and sneakers on her front paws,, and her black pumps on her rear paws..
    Happy also attended the regularary schediled activities..
    she was  running a bit late.. she was having difficultly
    reschedulng the delivery of 17 personal Pan Pizzas... being
    home on Friday.. she was waiting  for me to be too busy
    to realize they had arrived.. They have starteed to
    "divide the Royal TOY estate... hmmm.. and of course
    Mummy brought home "more toys and treats.. HRH taught
    them well.. I made  2 appearances at the show so that was 2 lists..
    no duplications or substitutions allowed.... Hmm Gee Deb..
    I thought Argus  had not got around to teaching that
    to Preschie and Happy yet.. apparently I stand corrected..

      2 grey mice, 3 brown, 4 balls.. hmm..hey there is a toy

So sorry to hear about HRH.  Even though we have never met
her, it's as if we know her through your stories.  You were very
strong and courageous...a model for us all.  You can take
pride in the high quality of life she had for so many years.

    Have just gotten into "Feline" for the first time in weeks and
    am in tears (like everyone else) about HRH.  Though I never
    met her, I carried around a mental image of her tripping through
    life in her robe and tiara, or in pearls and mink or some other
    such regal garmentry.

    Purrhaps you have seen the beeuuatiful feline necklace in the latest
    Potpourri cattalog?  It is a wonderous strand of pearls with little
    silver fishes strategically placed in the front.  Quite reasonable too!
    I believe it would be quite appropriate for that certain female feline.

    Sorry to have heard such sad news, Nancy DC told me last week, and
    things here at work have not lend me time to send my condolances and
    from the Dudley Road gang.
    
    How you describe her Nap,,,,,,,was very moving and I'm quite a bit
    teary now.  I know she's playing with my former pets and many others
    smiling on a soft-white fluffy cloud.  Reassuring you she's happy.

    who said as she was flying back from Chicago.. she was noticing
    who beautiful the clouds were so apparently HRH is busy redecorating..
    and she "heard tell" thar HRH had hired LAURA ASHLEY for $2.00
    per hour to work for her.. note that was not "assist" that 
    was "work"..
