shorthair Ginger,
and
shorthair tortoiseshell,
............as long as they're mogs and not a breed.
HOWEVER, I don't think I've ever found a cat I don't like.

there's nothing prettier than a really clean white white!

| I've got all colors, patterns and sizes but I have to admit that I have
a soft spot for solid blacks, both long and short hairs. My first cat,
Jet, was a solid black DSH, and my next cat Viper was a solid black DLH
(actually, he had all of the Maine Coon characteristics and was even
born in South Berwick!) Currently, I have 3 solid DSHs (The twins and
Kostas), and Nikolas, who also appears to be a Maine Coon.

Hmmmm....
Very interesting question. I have two all black females. I love them.
They are almost impossible to photograph, and in fact, they picked us
out!
I love silver Tabbies, or red tabbies, or solid greys too.
But I never meet a cat I couldn't love!
Feline any color at all,

I Like grey cats. T.K. is a grey and black striped slinky
shorthair and Bandit is a dark grey plump Maine Coon mutt.
My fiances parents have a cat called Grey One and she is
absolutely beautiful. She is a light grey with white markings
and medium length hair. And that kitten I tried to find a
home for a couple of weeks ago was similar to her but with
short hair. Believe me, it was difficult to say no to that
little cutie.

I LOVE red tabbies ;-), but there has always been a soft spot
for black. Between Cattyshack & cat shows I must admit my
my color preference has expanded somewhat. So, I'll also take Smoke,
Tortie (yes, Cin & Diane, tortie) and even brown tabby if they look
like Stripees or Lil!!! :-) :-) :-)

3870.7 | Do you really have to choose? | CSSE::CST | | Fri Aug 03 1990 13:16 | 16 |
| My preference is for white Orientals with blue eyes! They can change
the "pinkness" of their ears like those old mood rings. You can tell
when they are excited or "cool"! Blue eyes have it hands down.
If I had to push it I also like the dark brown (as in Burmese) and
champagne or blue colors. Solids or chinchillas are tops for markings
to me.
Now that I've said that.............perhaps I'll change my mind next
year!!
Karen, Ruby, Stinky, Wing
P.S. Whites just make me want to kiss them all over, you can tell
they're clean !

| Sealpoints! I'd like a few more sealpoints, please, although lately
the bluepoints have really been growing on me. I also love silver
classic tabbies and bi-color faces (inverted V of white on the face).
Blue eyes too.

3870.9 | Hmmmm....hard question.....

Clean white white, red ( as in tabby ) and tortie! But it's really hard to make
a choice! I think deep down I love them all!
Marlene - your tortie choice doesn't surprise me.....you're hooked now!

| Boy that is a tuff one.. I am more into "facial features".. ie
eyes,, more of a kind of "spiritual sense.. I guess.. (Does that make
sense.. it is usually the face that gets me first.. not in
physical sense though.. I guess though.. and Cin please
correct me if I am inaccurate here.. more dilutes muted shades..
HRH is a smoked Tortie(and according to Auntie Cin.. and I quote
"a typical one at that.. (insert grin here. Right Cin..) and Happy
is a blue and white cream.. my little "ewok/wookie baby.. and Preschie
she is a brown and white tabby.. with this OWLY expression..
and eyes you could get "lost" in.. whoops Mom's getting "musshy"
again.. I really love them all.. it gets back to facial experession.
I know by the eyes.. it is hard to explain..
Feline tongue tied.. (to coin a Sue Spingler phrase..)

And a close second, Odd eyed whites!! (as in Persians, might come
as a shock to some of you but one day I am going to have one of
these!)

| Sliver and black classic tabby swirls!! Marbelized cats ;-) !!!
Of course white with/blue eyes and those seal and blue siamese.
The white orientals ears are great, though. When Dream is all
warm and cuddly and happy, her ears turn hot pink!! It's so funny!

3870.13 | preferences, smeferences... | TYGON::WILDE | Ask yourself..am I a happy cow? | Fri Aug 03 1990 17:38 | 43 |
| Well, visual preferences are:
flame points - particularly one "American short-hair" style flame-point
with bright blue eyes (there, Hannah, now you can leave
me alone)...I THINK they were trying to get a flame point
javanese when they ended up with Hannah - lucky for me,
she has a standard cat body and face instead of the
radical oriental wedge-head appearance they wanted.
Apple-headed, seal point siamese - love them cats - don't like the wedge
heads....they look too weird to me...and too scrawny in
the body. I'm old fashioned in this preference, I know, but
I like my cats to have character to their faces - I just don't
see it in the wedge-heads. I'm not as fond of the blue,
violet, chocolate, etc. points either..
short hair, gray or black tuxedo cats - these beauties ALWAYS seem to have
brilliant white points and tummies and wonderful whiskers...I
am always drawn to a tuxedo cat. My Nickie is a gray tuxedo
cat and is always dressed in his dove-gray morning tuxedo,
ready for all weddings and formal brunches...he'd make a great
butler's cat.
short or long hair BLACK cats - I've always wanted a true 'witch's cat",
a sleek, short-haired, midnight black cat....well, I have a
luxurious long-haired black cat, "Imperial Samson", but I'm
still waiting for my minature panther...someday.
I HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR:
Somalis and abbys - the personalities and intelligence of these little
bundles of trouble lead me to believe I am fated to live with
one someday. Love the look of these cats, as well.
Birmans - the seal-point Birman has the most brilliant blue eyes and
beautiful, expressive face that I've ever seen. These cats
are also the most lovely "FEELING" cats I've ever petted.
Their coats are something else. My best friend and roommate
is already saving for her Birman - so I guess I'll end up
living with one of these cats too. I know just where to shop.
ANY HOMELESS, UNWANTED, HUNGRY CAT - too many to adopt, too many to save,
but I love them all.

| A second here for tuxedo's, I now have two black and whites..! Rocky,
with different color whiskers (white chin, black forehead ones) and the
new kitten Corky (white ear tufts, cute!!) with all white whiskers.
I love their clean white paws, and the white under-tummy stripe. With
their backs to you, they do look all black, for those who like all
black.

3870.16 | Probably "Tigers" | MEMIT::MISSELHORN | | Mon Aug 06 1990 14:52 | 17 |
| I've always had a soft spot for "tiger kitties"--mackeral, grey,
orange, or whatever. Melody is a mackeral tabby--Bruce kept going
back to the Humane Society until they had a "tiger". Brittany is
a soft grey with white (I have to admit that I had nothing whatsoever
to do in picking her out and she is the cutest cat I have ever known--
both in personality and in looks).
But then, when they brought home Missy, who was supposed to be for
a friend, I fell in love and she is solid charcoal grey with so
few white hairs on her chest that they are virtually unnoticable.
She is very striking--some people have even asked me if she is
an exotic of some kind!
I do know that I have a very soft spot for ANY abandoned, abused
or unwanted cat, sight unseen--no matter what they look like!

| Definite first choice is either Blues or Silver tabbys. They are such
a STRIKING cat (no comment Cin! (-:)
Then it would have to be a blue/cream and white longhair or tortie and
white longhair or shorthair. I don't know why, but I've always had a
soft spot for these babies.
Of course, I love all colors. But these are definite favorites.

| Well, I've always had a soft spot (mostly in my head) for Torties.
In recent years I've also developed a passion for silver patch tabbies
(like Bonnie), blue/creams and I'd LOVE a blue tabby.
Of course, I think they're all beautiful in their own ways.

| Blue Lynx Point Siamese take first prize for me.
Blue eyed white takes second, which is interesting because until I got
Tristan I hated white cats.
Then there's blue points, any color tabby, and solid black.
As for type, I prefer an Oriental or Maine Coon type.
Karen, Tristan, Tenzing and Max.

3870.23 | Never met one I didn't like! | NRADM::TRIPPL | | Mon Sep 24 1990 14:27 | 15 |
| Aw c'mon people! I've never met a cat I couldn't fall in LOVE with!!
I did have a cat a few years ago I called Sylvester. Now you have to
picture this Black and white cat just like the cartoon who had the
personality to match the cartoon. His favorite habit was to "get even"
with me by chomping *through* the phone cord if I locked him in the
bedroom,(that was when phone repair men made house calls, I got to know
repairmen on a first name basis!) when I didn't want him getting out while
the door was open. Or if he were PO'd a me, usually right after I had
pushed a pill down his throat for the ever occuring cystitis. His
favorite food was Green Beans, he'd stand up on back feet and beg for one
of these. He also requested to be walked daily on a leash and collar, but
liked walking in knee deep snow the best! Sure do miss him.
