    Dear Gentle Feliner Friends,
    
    All cats of refinement and genteel manners are invited to my
    coronation.  To take place at my castle in the kingdom of New
    Hampshire.  For those felines without transportation, please inform my
    social director, she will arrange for the limo to pick you up and
    return you to your home.
    
    This is of course a black tie affair.  Purrrpppp, Handsome boy kitty's
    in tuxedos are extra welcome!!! Purrppppp I digress.
    
    I wish to thank HRH The gentle Empress Pookie McCurdy.  Without her
    expert and refined guidance I would have never achieved my standing of
    Princess.  Purrppppsss, Gentle Empress, I remain forever in your debt.
    
    I will see all of my gentle guests at my castle on Friday, August three,
    1990 at 3:00.  Of course refreshments will be served.

    Thanks!!  (I love the title,) Yes I have considered writing up
    "Panther's Story" as a childrens book.  I hope you are going to the
    East Coast Feliner's dinner.  I will have pictures of HRH P. J. with
    me.  She is all black, Siamese.  Very regal, and the apple of my eye!
    
    Panther will definately want a share of the Royalities :-)  Acutally,
    she may let me take a share of them.  (After all if it is Royal it is
    *MINE* Mummie.)

    Kate,  Thanks, sigh, I had a feeling that something was up.  The phone
    bill to A. J. P. Esq was larger than normal.  Sigh, the worst part is
    that all of this was my fault.  Sigh, Where do I sign?
    
    Just to reassure all Coronation attendees, Jerry (Daddie) will be at
    home to assist in the actual Coronation, and act as bouncer.  (No
    shenanagans, *THIS MEANS YOU HAPPY & SPOT!*)
    
    Once the coronation has taken place, I expect that Panther list of
    Kitty Demands will lengthen.  She is already sending away for the
    Neiman Marcus CATelogue.  (I don't think I can afford a Kitty Princess,

    will be on hand in the nursery.  (Nanny is the cat next door,  19 years
    young and still hunts in my back yard!) You should be able to enjoy

    Please don't forget to bring Dundee with you!  I will have my social
    director send the Limo to pick up all of the Putiput cats of
    refinement!

    I also heard froma very reliable highly placed source that ARGUS 
    is also one of the "featured speakers" and that he and his 
    "learned colleagues" will be staying overnite".. at the Marroitt..
    T he only reason I know this.. is that HRH made their reservations
    and informed me.. that I should ask for a " more suitable line
    of credit.."that she make available for "guests"..

    Yes, she certainly is, Panther is putting up "select out of town and
    overseas guests" at the Merrimack Hilton.  And Mummie, could you please
    just leave the gold card at home, I will handle these details.  Sigh,
    I am sure the she is attending the seminar too.  This time as either an
    instructor or junior speaker.  (Source wasn't clear on that point.)
    
    And YES Argus, there will be refreshments served at the coronation
    also.  I'm going broke, the new KITTY CONTRACT arrived last nite with
    the PRINCESS updates, unlimited allowance and entertaining budget, she
    wants an increase in her clothing allowance and now wants a TRAVEL
    BUDGET and her own account at Crimson.  Sigh.  I think she wants to
    visit England and her "cousin" Liz.

    You know, I didn't realise just how important this Coronation was to
    Panther until I was awakened at 6:00AM this morning.
    
    No, Not by a fuzzy face, or a deft paw.  But by a *STREET SWEEPER*!!!
    I didn't catch the full significance of this event until I got up and
    found Panther in the front window Supervising the work.
    
    I am sure that Panther called the town manager to arrange for the
    street to be cleaned.  I wonder if she is going to put down red
    carpeting too?  At this point I wouldn't be surprised.
    
    I guess this also explains the note my husband found in the mail box.
    	
    	"Mow your lawn by thursday midnight or pay the consequences."
    
    Hmmmmm.... I wonder who sent that?

    Ms Bumpy-tail reminded us, in a very refined manner, that she is of
    royal blood herself (who am I to argue, we got her at age 2) and that
    she expects to receive an invitation to this event.  She's already
    dressed for the occasion in her black & white and expects us to
    "Handle" the details for her.

    If Bumpy-tail wishes to wear her diamonds, well that would be most
    appropriate.  (Panther tells me that diamonds go very well with basic

    Well, since everyone who saw Kelsey's picture last night thinks he
    looks like a snob, he will expect an invitation to Panther's Royal
    Coronation.  Kate, he would be happy to escort Pookie, if she is
    looking for a date.  I am sure she has her choice of many suitors, and
    he is a bit young for her (only 2), but I think he could use a woman
    like Pookie to keep him in line and show him the ropes.

    Gee, I noticed a limo outside my house this morning....I wonder if the
    Cattyshack kids really think they're royalty.

    Dream (aka "Mommy's Little Princess") would also like to be added
    to the list of distinguished guests for this royal event.  She,
    of course, will be in sparkling white attire, but prefers saffire
    and diamond studded neckware to highlight her blue eyes.  Mother, 
    through the providence of VISA, has kindly provided suitable
    jewelry for this event, and it should be arriving from Tiffany's
    shortly.
    
    Mary-Michael and the ever-elegant Dream (hmm, I think I saw
    the phone company pull up and I left this morning.  The repairman
    was carrying a red phone..... ;-)

    Nippa has mentioned to me that she would like to be added to the `list'
    for the event of the decade....although she has not decided whether 
    she'll be wearing black or white, she has `borrowed' my credit cards
    to purchase the proper accessories.

    I'm sure Panther will be gratified at the large turnout.  Yes, i expect
    the bill for transportation alone for this little party will be

    Limoges has asked me to inquire as to the estimated arrival time
    of the lear jet??  She wants to make sure that she arrives on the
    east coast with plenty of time to "freshen up" before the big event.

    Hmm... well..  I heard from a well INFORMED source that Kelsey
    was "brunching" with HRH this morning....hmmm. and they were
    according to one other source.. Brunching at the SHERATON..!!!!
    .. Cin.. yes that was indeed a "LIMO" you saw.. I have it
    on good authority that this was the 1 st of many stops
    today at Cattyshack.. for the festivities.. I heard
    from very relaiable source that Stripees had requested
    an "early ride" so that him and his daughter could spend
    some time together prior to the festivities.. HRH,, and Princess
    Panther  have decided that Cattyshacks Precious Gem will
    be attending the coronation,, she is to be ESCORTED by her
    Father..As it was mutually agreed that Preschie is really
    still toooo young for a "real date".. if you will..

    Hmm, the Sheraton, huh?  No wonder Kelsey had his nose in my purse last
    night!  I am very surprised that Pookie agreed to date a "minority
    breed", tee hee!!  I'm sure they are having lots of fun, and cleaning
    out the fish dishes at the buffet...

    Cin.. I just see it all now.. Stripees looking so DEBONAIR in his
    Tux(with cape and top hat..) Preschie in her "party dress.. with her
    little mary-janes.. little ankle sox with lace trim... of course
    the risk we run here.. is Happy's influence.. if she had her
    way.. Preschie would be dressed in a low cut dress,, fishnets,
    spike 4 inch heels.. long bangly type  bracelets and BIG HOOP
    earrings..ofcourse if this were to happen. We would hear a  BIG
    THUD as HRH would faint for sure....
           Roberta..apparently this is also a business meeting as well..
          I heard tell you did not pay your "royalty fees upon
    returning home last nite from showing Kelseys pix at the party...
    TSK, TSK... Take it from one who knows... the penalty for
    that is  outrageous.. but for what it is worth..  HRH  has
    in the past not imposed the royalty fees on pixs I have
    shown to family members and "certain friends.." especially
    certain human friends who send home certain catnip mice,
    sparklers,, and a certain "baby  HRH has been raising
    as her own.. even though this Baby is really Happys baby.....
    So you may want to try for some "exemptions to this royalty
    rule.. But be careful.. all exemptions are throughly considered
    by the legendary Law Firm of Argus J Pussycat ESQ and his
    Seven Legal Partners..

    Preshie wouldn't dare wear a low cut dress and fishnet stockings to meet
    her daddy....you know how fathers are about these kind of things.  He
    would just send her back to her room to change into something more
    dignified, and make her take the make-up off her face!

    from my house.HRH really likes it there,, the spa.. etc.. 
    Happy however was "Banned from the place".. something about
    cannonballing in the pool,, and chasing the "guards" arond
    with her slingshot.. While a   One Spots Spingler was
    er um.. using one of the suites..   under the guise
    of teaching Preschie her" numbers"( like in Preschool)..
    only it was more like"running numbers.."
     I can see that Now.. I can see her in her room "crying"
    her little eyes out.... saying Daddy is mad at me.. GEE..
    I wonder if I can return this to the kittystore.. for all
    my money back,, hmm.. I could use this money for kitty toys..
    I know,, I will ask Daddy to take me shopping for more
    toys ,, cuz I am sooooooo good.. purrrrr.. purrrrrrrr...purrr,

    Not to worry, The limo arrived at your house to take Limoges to the
    airport right after you left for work.  limoges arrived in plenty of
    time to check into her suite at the Hilton for a catnap and to dress
    for the occasion.
    
    As it is now 3:08 EST the Coronation has begun.  My husband, Jerry who
    is at home today, called a litle while ago.  It seems that Princess
    Panther did have red carpetng installed on the driveway and front walk
    so that her guests would not soil their "dancing slippers."

    Yes sad to say, Spots is on parole (for running Numbers) and has been
    banned for life from the Sheraton Tara.  Precious was not held
    responsible, thank heaves, she was treated as a minor juvenal offender
    and was released into HRH Pookie's custody.
    
    I am glad that Precious' daddy will be escorting her, I herd rumors
    about Spot and Happy getting one of their Lutenents(SP?) to do the 
    honors.  It should be an interesting party.

     I am going to ask this question very carefully(ARGUS please be
    too busy to read this..) Er um.. are we going to be able to
    at least see this videotape , after of course we see hilites
    on the major TV stations tonite..?.. I was going ask why
    WE were not invited , after all we are the kitty parents..

    Hi Kate,
    
    I was hoping no one would ask this question.  Er...Ummmm you see,
    although the human press was invited, it seems that most Kitty parents
    do not have blue enough blood.  (Blush, blush, errr, ummm it seems that
    I was included in that group, my blood is pure red.)  So that Princess
    Panther Jane did not wish to offend any kitty parents, so she did not
    invite any to attend.  
    
    ER, ummmm yes there will be a screening of the video tape of the entire
    ceremony (excerpts on the news at 6:00 & 11:00) and er,,, ummm well, we
    will be asked to pay admission to view said tape.  er, ummm there will
    be a dress code also.  Sorry.

    We wish to thank you all for attending our Royal Coronation.  Without
    each and every one of you the occasion would have lacked a certain
    festivity.  I am so very and humbly grateful that all of you could fit
    my little occasion into your very busy social schedules.
    
    I hope all of you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did, and I also
    sincerely hope that the travel and hotel accomodations were
    satisfactory.

    Hi Everyone,
    
    As I promised, here is the "Party Report".  I know that Princess
    Panther didn't invite any HUMAN guests, (except, of course, the British
    Royal Family, they graciously declined) I had a spy.  Jerry, (Kitty
    Daddie) was working the party as doorman, and bouncer.  He looked most
    elegant in his tuxedo!
    
    The Coronation itself went off with out a hitch.  It was very dignified
    and regal.  The few words that HRH Pookie spoke were very fitting and
    all were suitably impressed.  (Princess Panther did not grant Argus J.
    equal time until later.  It turned out that that was a good strategy,
    because, though his words were pithy, he did manage to get in a little
    "commercial for the FIRM" before he was finished.)
    
    Spot and Happy were allowed entrance to the party after the Ceremony. 
    It was kind of Princess Panther to be so gracious but it almost proved
    to be unwise.  The "terrible twosome" had planned a "kitty nursery"
    break out.  I must say Hallie's kittens were better behaved than anyone
    would have imagined.  Spot was very dissappointed.  The little ones
    charmed everyone and ate a LOT.  They were returned to Nanny Chequers
    care without any major mishap.
    
    Happy did plan fireworks for the occasion, but setting them off indoors
    proved to be somewhat un-nerving.  The Merrimack fire department was
    very helpful, and Happy was sent home early in the limo, but it was
    under protest I assure you.  HRH was also seen to "give her a good one"
    on the top of her head to assist her "loading" into the back seat.
    
    Spot was somewhat subdued after Happy was sent home, and she too left
    early on her motorcycle. 
    
    The dancing went very well, Precious was adorable.  Escorted by her
    illustrious Father Stripees, she had her first formal dance with her
    dad.  It was very moving.  HRH, was very proud, as the little one
    (Precious) was on her very best manners.  She did, however offer to
    teach the assembled guests the "Latest in Break Dancing."  Stripees was
    game but the orchestra did not know any music that was suitable. 
    Princess Panther was releaved.
    
    The film crews from the three major networks captured the full pomp and
    dignity of the Coronation.  Did any one see their own cats on the late
    news?  They all looked so wonderful in their formal wear.  It was really
    quite a nice affair.

    Sue, I also "heard" from someone in the "know" that SPOTS was trying
    to bribe her way in to the party( Happy had the ladder ready just
    incase),,by offering Princess Panther the combination to the
    safe.. where the tickets for CATS are being stored.. SHE did not
    want to see the play.. but she did want the "dinner tickets..".
    ARGUS,, thought the dinner tickets should have been his..
    (in lieu of his usual fee,, he was feeling very generous at that
    time , must have been the sight of all that food and kitties
    of refinement).. heh-heh..

    Well, I know that Bonnie was planning to crash the party on her
    motorcycle, but Bumpytail bribed Bob to "disable" the bike.  Don't
    tell Bonnie tho - she doesn't know what happened.

    very grateful if she knew.  I don't think I'll tell her.  :-)  Do you
    think Bonnie met all the other kitty's later at the Post Coronation
    Motorcycle Rally?  I think Spots just wanted some time with her own
    friends and an equal share of the party budget.  You should see the
    bill from Pa Pa Gino's for Pizza and Beer!

    re: .41  I suspect that Ms. Isis black-cat took Bonnie to the rally
    on her cycle later.  Isis has the good sense to know that its not
    worth crashing a royal affair.  Besides, Bumpy-tail would give her
    what-for when they got home.  Bumpys may be the matriarch, but she's
    still got a mean right hook - and Bob listens to her.  Bob outweighs
    Isis by a good 2 lbs.

    that you can also expect another kitty-doozy of a bill from PIZZA HUT..
    According to my source.. "Aunt Joyce" is on Vacation this week..
    she needed it after making 36 pizzas.. (adult size) 50 personal
    pan  size..(baby kitty size for Hallies babies.. and other kitty babies
    to little hold those BIG PIZZA  SLICES in their paws). So
    the "bill" will be forthcoming.. as soon as she is back to work..

    I must say it was nice of Spot to order pizza in sizes that would fit
    individual cats.  She is not usually so thoughtfull, (I've got mine,
    you'll just have to cope if you don't want me to eat YOURS too!!!)

    The law firm of  Pussycat, Pussycat, Pussycat, Pussycat, Pussycat,
    Pussycat, Pussycat & Pussycat Esquires wish to extend their thanks for a
    wonderful event. They made many new clients and were especially
    pleased to meet Limoges, whom they can tell just from her name is
    partner material. In fact, she is going to set up a west coast office!

    This thank you note from the Pussycats is a bit late, but I should note
    that they got so much new business at the coronation that they decided
    to hold a woods meeting for the entire week (Thanks to HRH for making
    thi$ po$$ible).

    By the way, Argus was easy to spot in the videotape; he was the only
    speaker that went to the podium wearing a lobster bib...

    attendance.  We also want to know, where our royalty check is for all
    the new business that the Coronation brought in.
    
    RRRrrrreallly Argus, you should know better than to be late with a
    Kitty payment to one of your best clients!  (Do check your invitation,
    it does clearly state the terms of payment for any new clients to the
    firm that were on the guest list.)

    I had a feeling that something was up with Limoges.  I had noticed
    that the kids had been spending more and more time with the nanny
    lately.  I suppose this explains the need to install a private line
    in the birthing cage.

    According to the Chief Financial Officer and Head Pussycat, The Lovely
    Pip, Princess Panther should check her bank statement. The Pussycat
    firm direct deposited the royalties into a high yield CD. Mailing the
    check could take one or two days and Pip would hate for a client to
    lose a cent of interest.

    on a pro bono basis. Her east coast partners are all donating their
