3836.0. "need info for Felv (tear?)test" by FRAGLE::PELUSO (PAINTS; color your corral) Fri Jul 27 1990 09:39
I am in the process of helping a friend who has 12-20 strays around her
barn (BTW, she said Buster could reside there permantly, once neutered,
and Felv-).
We arranged a deal for the spaying/neutering, but the Felv test is mega
bucks. We don't want any Felv + cats running around up there - and we
can't afford to test them all.
I did remember someone talking about a tesr test for Felv. I have
looked through the notes and my vet catalogues and can't find any such
thing.
Does anyone have any info on this test...like how accurate? Where can
we get it? How much? and is it something we can do under the guidance
of a vet?
advanced thanks for the info.......Michele

| In my Master Animal Care catalog they have these test. I have my
cats done at the vets so don't know how much they are but will
check and get back to you on Monday.
You have a lot of work ahead of you. I wish you the best. (This
months Cats Magazine tells about a couple on the west coast rounding
up strays at some state beach. The article was sad and glad. They
sure put a lot of money and time into doing this.
