3823.0. "Jake/Tica need a home" by TOOK::C_SANDSTROM (born of the stars) Wed Jul 25 1990 11:44

I have two male cats (currently living in Ayer, MA) that
need a new home due to some unavoidable personal circumstances.
They are always together and get "mopey" if separated, so I'd
like to see them go together.

Jake is my three-legged sweetie. He came to me after losing
one of his front legs but gets around just fine. He has
black/grey/white mackeral stripes and has the biggest eyes
	you've seen.

Tica is a beauty. He has enough extra toes on each foot to
make up for the ones that Jake's missing! He has fluffy orange
fur and purrs up a storm.

Both are indoor cats and have been declawed. They love people
and adore anyone who will scratch their ears. They are used to
dogs (I have 2) and get along with them by studiously ignoring
	them.

They get along tremendously - eat and drink from the same dishes
(even if you try separate ones) and use the same litter box.
They prefer to romp and play with each other rather than toys
...unless the toys happen to be tissues!

Jake is 3+ and Tica is 2+. They come with food, litter and litter
box (cleaned of course!), carrier and blanket.

Please send mail to TOOK::C_SANDSTROM if interested.

Jake is the baby mentioned in note 873.0, who had such a hard time.
If anyone can take him (and hopefully Tica too) I'll foot the
airplane fare if they need that to travel to their new home.

I could be persuaded to kick in on airplane fare too. ;-)

I forgot to mention in the basenote that both of my guys
have been neutered. They are not aggressive toward each
other or anyone/thing else. They only thing they tend to
"attack" is the tissue box (love to see me chasing those
shreds flying all over the place!) and even that isn't a
    regular practice.

Below is the original note about Jake, one of the two cats from .0 who
    now needs a new home:

The "cat with the broken leg" mentioned in note 415.104 at the Pelham
Animal Shelter is in real need of a home. The nerves in the leg
are permanently damaged, so the leg is not useful and drags on the
ground. The vet is amputating the leg tomorrow; he says the puss
will get along find with three legs. He also says the cat is about
6 months old, is a male tabby, black, brown, with some white and
sand color (if I recall correctly), and that it is very friendly
and affectionate. The latter is particularly amazing, since the
animal officer thinks the cat was abused.

Can anyone give this baby a home? I'm taking care of its medical
expenses, but I share my small cottage-type house with two cats,
that's about a half a cat more than I really should have already,
since they are indoor cats. One is also very territorial. That's
even besides the problem of getting him to Calif.
