I need some help in figuring out if my cat got pregnant. I had a 10
month old male visiting for two weeks. Ruby was in heat mostly the
second week. They did have time alone gbut when I was around the onluy
thing the male would do is beg to be petted. He did do some spraying
and also has jowels and stud tail so I believe he is old enouh. The
female has ahad experience with a neutered male so it's not like she
is a total beginner. I have no evidence that they mated, can anyone
help or tell me how soon I may notice any signs? Ruby is 1 1/2 years
old.

If the cats were left alone while she was in heat, then it would
be naive to imagine that they did not breed.
Look for signs at 21 days after mating (this is the reason why
breedings are witnessed, so that you know when 21 days after mating
is (^:). Her nipples will become dark pink. At 5 weeks after mating,
you should start to notice that she is getting heavier. At 7 weeks
after mating, she is noticably pregnant. Gestation is usually 63-65
days.

Thanks for answering so quickly! I hope I wasn't being naive, but
Nicholas could be soooooo wimpy. I'm hoping youre right!
By the way, if it did take place, I should be having some white
orientals, and possibly seal lynxes, chocolate and seal points.
Having a house full of loving and crazy cats is all I ever wanted.
Showing has also become a lot of fun too!. I guess I have the bug!
Too bad you can't come to the Feliner's party in August. I would love
to meet you!
