    Knit a cat!! What a great idea. Do I want a pattern--I don't think I
can afford it I have too many originals as it is.

The base note said a "knitting pattern for a cat" -- I had no idea people could
train their cats to knit! Or is it a breed trait, no training involved?

It does sound cute, hope the person who posted the base note doesn't mind our
teasing -- but the idea of cats sitting there will knitting needles and balls
of yarn at their feet was just too much...

I'm sure Nancy will want one!!! I don't know how many of you have seen
the beautiful Red Sweater she has with the white kitties on it. She
    made it herself....it's just gorgeous!

I never did pick up knitting very well....I can do a few straight
knits, but could never manage a sweater!

cin...who is just jealous over Nancy's sweater!

3783.5How about a cat fur sweater..??WOODRO::IVESTue Jul 10 1990 17:0013
I agree Cin, Nancy's red sweater is soooooo gorgeous. First time I
met her she had it on, and I always refered to her as the lady in
the red sweater with the white kitties on it. Since then I have
come to know her by Nancy, who has the Scotish Folds.

I have seem many beautiful sweaters, skirts, blouses etc with
cat patterns on them done in one medium or another at the cat
show, and wonder, where do people get them? I bought a great
pocket book at the show in Boxoboro I have enjoyed so much. E.T
got one too. I am going to write to the "man" that did them to see
if I can get one in another color.

maybe Nancy will make'em and sell 'em! I would like a size medium
in Brown Patched Tabby colors !!! Nancy, can you put Lil's face
on it with little LILets ? But, don't fold the ears !!!! just
    flatten the faces!

    E.T.

I hope the bag man comes to the Manchester show!! His stuff is so
wonderful! Too bad he wasn't at the International show!

    aw guys....blush blush blush................

It IS my favorite sweater. I can knit but not very quickly. That
sweater took me at least 6 months. I do have knitting machine -
actually, I have two - but the sweater was done by hand. BTW -
knitting machines aren't as automated as you might believe. There
is still considerable effort involved in using them - you can just
    knit the rows much faster.

BTW - the kit came from Mary Maxim. I haven't seen it for quite
a while now, but I have the pattern if anyone wants it. I've seen
many other designs in the catalogs I get from MM, Herschners, the
stitchery and others. Also, if any of you live near Burlington
or Quincy, check out Lee Wards. Its basically a department store
for crafts. I can't walk into that place without spending at least
$35 and its usually much more.

    I LOVE it.
      Nancy

p.s. If anyone's really interested they could come visit kittens and
then we could go shopping at LW's.

ALso check Windsor button shops or the Lawrence candle shop (in
Northboro). I usually find neat ideas from those places. Also
    Spags has a craft shop.....

Not to change the subject, but when is the Manchester cat show??? I
would love to go! Maybe that's what it will take to get my husband to
    agree to another cat!
