Well, when Hannah gets into it with anyone, she hisses, spits, and screams...
and great fun is had by all. I would tend to think there is no problem
if there are no other symptoms of injury. Is she walking well, jumping
around as expected, and generally getting into everything all the time?
Then she is a healthy kitten and u have no worry.

| Is she screaming like she is in pain, or is it the hair-raising
banshee from the swamps scream that cats use as part of a fight
when they aren't necessarily even touching each other?

| I'm not sure - it seems to a sort of squeal - especially when Jimmy
is on top of her. She then wriggles out as best she can and retreats
for a minute, then starts attacking again.
She doesn't seem to be hurt in any way, but she doesn't make much
noise at any other time (unlike Jimmy, who chatters and whinges
a lot) and the screams did make me wonder if he was being too rough
with her. In the vet's words: "He's a much stronger Pussy altogether."

| I have a kitten and a full grown cat. The kitten is approx 9 weeks
and the cat is a year old. The kitten has a tendancy to jump on
Puddy (the cat) and cause a fight, then make the most awfull howl
and run away. At first this worried me a little, but now I ignore
them because if kitten was hurt badly she would not attack the way
she does.
Kitten has this bad habit of getting onto a high surface and jumping
on Puddies back. This inevitably causes a chase and a pounce. It
generaly ends with Puddy grabbing kitten around the shoulders and
kicking out like mad. Then when she lets go kitten will lie on her
back with her paws in the air and mouth open ready to attack again.
Generaly when kitten has had enough she goes and hides under the
stereo and gets ready to pounce again.
This little generaly goes on until Puddy has had enough and goes
to sleep. Sometimes with kitten still attacking.
I do think though that if either of them was getting hurt that they
would stop. Puddy always stops bitting kittens feet when she screams,
so things arent that bad.
I think this is a natural way of growing up. When Puddy was a baby
she used to fight with us. I used to get terribly scratched and
bitted. The new kitten takes everything out on Puddy and only comes
to us for cuddles. This is much more agreeable.
Dont worry to much, i'm sure they will sort it out.

| Cats are so funny...I have three and there are times they all
sleep together, times they lay in the sun together, times they
play together,,,but yet we occasionally have a battle that sounds
like a world war.
The funny part is I thought my two older males were beating up
my one year old small female, but come to find out (I spied on
them) she is the biggest culprit. They will be laying there on
their backs and she will jump off of a chair and rap herself
around their necks. What a little ?@#%. Of course they go
after her and she screams her little head off, growls, hisses,
spits and runs to mommy.
I have learned not to yell or hit them when this happens. I just
separate them in different rooms until they calm down. I can't
use the squirting with water trick because my female loves water
and will stand there until she totally wet. She's crazy...she even
chases the lawn sprinkler!! Life without Poco would be dull!
Don't worry too much...as long as they don't get hurt.
