remember the last one at the chinese near the ZK building? I
had a great time! It was good to talk to the feliners when I was so far

| I live in Central Massachusetts - but traveling an hour (40 miles)
in any direction is o.k. with me. Don't really prefer to go into
Boston - but would make the attempt.
I think narrowing it down between July 30th - to August 12th - would be
good and it would give me enough time to get reservation set in place.
Would the preference be to meet after work (week-night) or on a
Friday night....or even Saturday (for lunch...and we'd have more
time!!!)?
I think the first two most important things to 'firm' are date and
place. If I find it 'too' confusing, I'll take all the suggestions,
pick a date and place - and then I'll see how many can make it.
Having done this for my class reunion - I have found that sometimes it
is just best to say - 'the party will be at ----- at ------- on
--------!
That last paragraph sounded 'piggy'....I don't want to be the 'boss'
here...do a couple of people want to 'chair' this with me? Then,
we could decided fairly where and when to meet.
Does that sound more fair?

some great chinese restaraunts there. Also a few in Westboro too.
Both areas areas are easily accessible from 495 (easy on, easy off).

places. The Jade and Honolulu are in Westboro, and both make good
scoprion bowls!!!!! (okay, so I'm biased - :*).
The Jade has a nice bar/eating setup (well it has been awhile, but
it was a large group of people - and FUN!)
Weeknites are easier for me to, lots of horses type stuff going on
during the weekends (plus bridal showers and weddings....)

I'd prefer it wasn't a Friday night as Jack juggles that night and
won't be able to make it. A weeknight after work is ok with me
and anytime after th 16th of July is ok except sundays the 22nd or
29th - we're supposed to be having my sister's baby shower one of
those days.
Also I like the idea of the Marlboro/Maynard area. We live in
Braintree - south of Boston which is already an hour from that
area. Any further out and we may not make it.

| Well, it looks as though the dinner has been pretty much decided upon.
Let's plan on Thursday, August 2nd, at the Yangtze River Restaurant
in Littleton.
I will make reservations - so when you let me know for sure that you
are coming - please consider that a 'definate'. Some places get
VERY irritated if you ask for a room for 25/30 people and only 10
show up.
Either respond in this note with your definate 'yes' or you can write
me offline.
I will post the names of the definates as the time gets closer just to
make sure I have it all right.
Is 6:00 p.m. a good time - or should we say 7? My personal feeling is
to say 6 - then when everyone gets there we can order. I will find out
if they have a buffet (and how much it is) perhaps the majority would
like to go with that idea instead of ordering off the menu, which can
take a LOT of time.
Looking forward to hearing from a LOT of you - getting to meet you in
person and DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE PICTURES.
Marilyn
P.S. I will have a poster board made up - so if anyone wants to bring
a picture that night that they don't mind 'tacking' up on it -
we'll make a collage - for all to see!

3760.49 | Clarification regarding menu | NATASH::ANDERSON | | Mon Jul 09 1990 15:47 | 27 |
| Nancy:
I am sorry - I wasn't too clear about the 'buffet' thing. A while
back someone wanted to know if there was a 'buffet' available and/or if
someone was able to order an 'American' dish...as they weren't too
partial to chinese food...that's why I put that information in the note.
The options are:
1. Buffet - $10.95 plus tax
2. Ordering off the menu
There will be an automatic 15% added to the bill. We can divide that
between the total number of people - and chip in. i.e. $25 tip added
in - 20 people there - each person puts in 1.25. Sound fair?
In having organized things like this before I find it is easier for
each person to keep track of what they order and plan on paying that.
I personally don't feel it's fair to split the menu down the middle
because some people won't drink - some on a very tight budget - and
some who will or will not want dessert.
Does that fair/reasonable to all?

I will try and take some of Dolly - if you are ever in MK, do
stop by - I have about 50 or 60 on the walls of my office!
Folks here think I"m a little strange!
Actually, Jan, my head count has gone down a bit - it was world
war 4 in the house lately, and I really had to do some heavy thinking
about what to do about the unhappiness at home. As some of you may
have noticed (maybe not) I have place 4 of my boys in probably the
best homes in the world - the folks are thrilled, from what I hear,
and the boys are having a great time. They are getting so much more
attention and love and they are very happy. I miss them so much, but
I know that it's the best thing for them. 20 kids is a few too many!
When I took pics of the beanie weanies, it was the first time I had
used a new camera and I blew the roll, damn! I need to get better!
I'll try again!

I have opposit my door some real close up's of Mocha's head and
they are people stoppers. Many people poke their head in and
comment on my beautiful cat, (always followed by What kind is it?)
When you say Ragdoll they do a "Popeye" face and say, must be a rare
breed. About a foot away is my sweet Ming, lost in the blaze of
the beauty of close up pictures. Some day we'll get close ups of
her and then watch out.
On the shelf over my desk my animals and family share the spot light
with a silk flower arrangement. (after all, we spend so much of our
time here, might as well try and make it pleasant.)
Would love to travel around and see the different offices of the
feliners.

3760.86 | Directions to Yangtze River in Littleton, MA | TPMARY::TAMIR | ACMS design while-u-wait | Tue Jul 17 1990 10:40 | 31 |
| This is a correction of my previous directions which I have since deleted.
The correction is on the line marked with >> for those who may have already
read the incorrect directions.....profuse apologies.....
Hi...the Westford Regency is the closest hotel and Digital gets a good rate
there. It's only a couple miles down the road...
Speaking of the road, here are directions (even though I can't make it!!!!):
From Rte 495, take exit 31, Rte 119 Groton / Littleton Common. At the end
of the ramp, head east towards Littleton Common. As you approach the set
of lights at the intersection of Rte 119 and Rte 110 (just a few hundred
yards from the end of the exit ramp), stay in the left lane as you will
turn left at that light, and will now be heading east on Rte. 110 (this
is King Street. Follow King Street past the rather large Digital facility
(LKG) and Yangtze River will be on your left. It's just under 1/2 mile from
the lights to the Yangtze River.
To continue on to the Westford Regency, when you leave the Yangtze River,
turn left and follow the road for a few miles and the hotel will be on
your left.
If you're down from the north on 495, you could take the Boston Rd / Westford
>>exit, (exit 32) turn left at the end of the ramp, then turn right at the
intersection of Boston Rd. and Rte. 110. You'll be heading west on Rte. 110.
Yangtze is about 3 or 4 miles down the road on your right, just after you
cross the Westford/Littleton town line. I think this is a little quicker
than going all the way down to exit 31.

never-before-seen pictures of the little Bifflet!))

| Hi guys....it's Marilyn again!
Here is the poop (pardon the pun) regarding the information for the
party Thursday.
I spoke with Bill Shaw (the function manager) and he said he will give
us a private room (door closed away from the public....AND a special
table to set up with feline pictures) for 50 people or more.
The count (the actual names that I have now) stands at 41....so if
there is anyone out there that hasn't acknowledged their invite to me
yet - please do so - just so I can *honestly* say we have more than 50
people coming. The people at the restaurant have been MORE that helpful
in accommodating us - so I want to stay on the up-an-up with them.
I have the additional names of Julia Michaelson and 2 more people
coming with Barbara Ives. Heather...I got your 'yes' too! Thanks.
I'll be updating any new names to the list tomorrow and I am to call
Bill back tomorrow afternoon (around 4:30) with the final count.
Well....I guess I can give him the 'final final' count Thursday around
noon - but would like to get this wrapped up so I can relax some.
Looking forward to meeting all you nice folks out there. Nancy, are
you bringing the badges?
....and don't forget all those snapshots!!!

| .. The following verbage is from HRH she has asked for equal
time.. (MODS according to her atty,, she is entitled.. )
MY Dear FELINES.. are all of you aware where your
kitty parents will be tomorrow nite.. I suppose they have
hinted that they are "going out to dinner with Friends..
well this true.. But what they failed to tell you all,,
is that they will be showing pictures of all us..!!!!!
Now at first all of you are saying.. So HRH, that is great..
you are right,, but also you must remember your contract
states that your kitty parents must give you all "royalties
associated with showing or distributing your photos.. Now
I heard that there are forty one people attending tomorrow
nite.. that is quite a hefty Royalty sum.. My suggestion
is that all of you take the time to review your kitty contracts..
very carefully and make sure your kitty parent(s)..realize
that those fees are due immediately upon returning from
the festivities tomorrow evening.. ARGUS J. Pussycat
ESQ.. will be making himself available to answer any kitty
questions you may have.. you may reach him at the 1-900-SUE-THEM
number..I also will be available should need type of HRH type
of advice.. and of course I will see those of you attending
the Coronation on Friday..

I keep meeting people in the hallway and call me on the phone who are
so excited about this that my mind is so cluttered trying to remember
everyones names....I do recognize faces though. :-)
I guess what I am trying to say is please don't be offended if I left
your name out on this list. That doesn't mean you can't come - this is
and open party and you can show up at the last minute if you would
like. I just thought it would be easier for me to organize the whole

will be getting there around 4:30 or so (gonna have your badge on Nancy
so folks will recognize you?) and I'll plan on being there for around

AND to the ones who are unable to join us tonight. You will all be with
us in spirit!
**********************************
I spoke with Bill Shaw - at the restaurant - and everything is all set.
We have the private room (yaaahhhh) and he will set up an extra small
table for pictures, etc.! Anyone arriving earlier than 6:00 can go
into the room - the reservations are under my name - Marilyn Anderson.
(Obviously....!!) And...if you can make it by 7:00 - that is fine with
me...I am sure we can find you something to eat! :=)
One thing! All drinks ordered BEFORE the dinner will have to be paid
for right away....NO TAB!
The tables are set up for 13 people - with each table having it's own
bill (food and drink separate) so PLEASE PLEASE keep track of what
you owe. As stated before - I will take care of dividing the total
amount of meals into the automatic gratuity and each one of us will add
that on to the meal (and drinks) that is ordered. If you have to leave
before we are given the 'Bill' - please see me! I do NOT have a credit
card - so I am unable to cover for anyones' meal. And...I don't want
to stay there and do the dishes.
I don't want to sound like the preaching mother here...just want to be
up-front about the discussion that was had by myself and the management
of the restaurant. The object of this get together is to meet everyone,
talk about our favorite subject (felines) and have a great time.
See you tonight!
Marilyn
P.S. I have my camera as well!

| I just wanted to thank Marilyn again for all the effort she put
into making our party a WILD success last night! We had SUCH a
good time.
And the folks at Yangsei River were fantastic. The food was excellent,
the service very good and they even let us put up a "WELCOME FELINERS"
banner over the door to our room. We really had a fabulous time
and hope that this will be at least a semi-annual (6 months) event.
I still can't believe I forgot Bonnie in our introductions. Shhh...
Don't tell her anyone. She'll never let me live it down.

It was fun to share pictures and meet everybody!
Dream has *such* an ego now, after she found out how
beautiful and elegant people thought she was! She gave
me a very stern talking-to and said, "See Mother? White
Orientals are special...." and Boogie came over and bopped
her on the head.. ;-)

a great get-together. Also I want to thank Nancy for making the
feline badges. They are beautiful and for those of you who do not have
one...I suggest you beg Nancy for one.
Also...when we got home my kids just loved the sparklers! Even
Mr Conservateve Barkley was going crazy over them.
Again we had a great time and want to thank all those involved.
Let's do it again soon!

It was sure nice to see pictures of all the beautiful kitties, and put
some more names with faces.
Thanks again...

| Well....looks like a good time was had by all!
Thanks so much for the great turn-out - for the sparklers (Cin), the
badges (Nancy), the fliers and decorations (Karen), the sign (Jack)
and for being in such good company all evening long. You are all such
marvelous people!!! ...and Lisa Allgood made it all the way from the
U.K. - now that's true dedication. She did confess she misses her
babies, though, and can't wait to get back to see them.
I was so pleased with the restaurant - I thought the food was good, the
waiters were right there for us - the room looked good - and the whole
atmostphere was fun and pleasant. I sent a letter off to Bill Shaw -
the function manager for the restaurant - to express how pleased we were
with everything and to thank him for all his help.
By the way - the bill came to $400 - we gave them some GOOD business.
I will post a note about our next get-together on Monday - with all the
particular's - and by the response I got last night it sounds like it's
a go! Try and keep Saturday night - October 27th - free on your
calendar....we're going to party big-time.
Thank you ALL so much - it was fun planning the dinner and it would not
have been successful had not all of you been there. We missed the ones
that couldn't make it and hope that you can come to the next one.
(Yes, Nancy, doing this about twice a year sounds great)
Thanks again...

when the next batch is made, please let me know and I'll
send a check.
Thanks!

been a party without you.
Ruby and Wing both loved the sparkler! By 2am it was already on it's

play with anything other than catnip and get belly rubs from mum! 8'}
See ya next time!

Many of us that show will have a difficult time making a saturday night
get together. Even if I don't have a show, I'm away too many saturdays
to plan a night away from my hubby. And, I KNOW I won't get him to a
Feliners party! ;-)
Anyone wanting Sparklers, I have plenty available...just send me mail.

to make it! =(

would be best to have the next party on a thursday evening (Jack

Thank you again, Nancy, for those gorgeous photos you took of Jamie in

the pictures were fantastic.

Thanks Marilyn for organizing what seems like a great party. I'm sorry
that I missed a lot of people. It was kind of neat looking at kitty
pictures while I was on my way in and a lot of people were on their way
out.
RE: Cin's sparklers.
Well, you're a success Cin! Even the wonderful Michaela played with
the sparkler! Now THAT'S impressive! (-:
Holly, Silver and Pita (the bookend Korats (-:), tabitha, Michaela,
Sweetie (Aka, ears!), Seasea and my sister's cat Annie (the
contortionist! (-:)
P.S. I believe that these things belong to JJ, but I'm not sure. I
was one of the last people to leave (obviously! (-:) and we found a
Black Sparkler and a pair of yellow sunglasses. If these belong to
you, please send me mail (as I can't get in here as often as I'd like
to.)

| Oh, now I'm reallllly bummed that I couldn't go at the last minute!
It seems as if it was a wonderful party!
We ended up in a family situation in which the human kids got priority
over the kitty kids. I've already warned everyone at home that next
time, it will be different (barring emergencies or exceptional
circumstances), however.
So, as soon as we have details about the next one, I'm signing up!!!
(And, I am so glad we're not going to have to wait a year!)

had a great time. (I know I did.)
This is the third feliner party I have gone to and am still putting
names, nodes, and cats together. Looking forward to the next one.
Cin, the sparklers were a hit at my house as well. Even Mr Standoffish
Mocha played, and played until he was so tired he just fell asleep.

3760.137 | Broken Sparklers | WILLEE::MERRITT | | Thu Aug 09 1990 09:15 | 19 |
| Cin, I have to share my experience with my kitties and the sparklers.
I bought three sparklers for my kitties from the party. All of
my kids loved them dearly..even Mr. Conservative Barkley.
This big guy gets really peed off at the sparklers because he
can't get his nails or teeth to hold it down....and he starts
flinging them everywhere. Well as of yesterday..he learned how
to break the sticks in half. He bites one end of the stick and
puts pressure on the other end with his paw...and it goes snap!
I saw him snap two of them in half within a couple of hours. I
ran and hid the other one...so he couldn't get it!
Do you make snap-proof sparklers? My other kitties play so nice
with them and they really enjoy it. What a poop Barkley is for
spoiling all the fun...I swear he was doing it on purpose!!
Sandy (Tamba, Poco, and Barkley - ha ha ha I'll find the last one!)

an Arnold Schwartnager (sp) on my hand! He is a pretty big/strong
kitty...especially when he is mad...any boy does he get mad at
those sparklers.
