3713.0. "Anybody got a feline" by SUBURB::JONESD () Fri Jun 15 1990 10:11

    Does anyone have kittens or a house loving friendly cat that they
    need to find a home for. I have an insane cat that would love to
    have a friend to pounce on (in the nicest of ways fo cource). My
    cat is very house loving and friendly, but i am sure she would have
    more fun playing with another cat rather than my toes.

    If anyone knows of anyone who has kittens, or anyone has a cat that
    they can't keepthen please let me know.

    I am however only looking for the cat/kitten in England as it would
    be very difficult to bring a cat into the country.

    Please let me know on dtn 7830-4300

3713.1How about visiting the U.S.? :-)BOOVX1::MANDILEFri Jun 15 1990 10:187
    Too bad you're not in the U.S.....It's kitten season and the
    shelters and newspapers are FULL to the brim with cats/kittens
    needing homes.

    Good luck in your search!

3713.2STILL LOOKINGSUBURB::JONESDFri Jun 15 1990 11:2421

    The problem in England is quite the opposite. I have had arguments
    with animal shelters who claim that i am cruel to my cat. It is
    very difficult to get hold of kittens in this area. My heart bleads
    when i read all the notes about stray kittens. Unfortuantely the
    rules are so strict when it comes to gettin a cat from an animal
    shelter. The lady i spoke to informed me that as i lived in a flat
    and as that flat was not on the ground floor then i was cruel keeping
    a cat. I know of quite a few people in the surrounding flats to
    mine that would have linched her. Most of the flats that i live
    in are occupied by cats. The flats are only one story high, they
    are fairly spacious. OK we dont have a cat flap, but then our cat
    doesn't like to go outside very often. We are always at home in
    the evening and we absolutely adore our mad cat. To be told by this
    women who has never seen our flat or our cat that we are cruel to
    our cat makes me very mad.
    And it also makes me very determined to get a friend for my little
    loony.

    England has a 6 month quarantine, so coming to the US for a cat
    really isn't an option for this noter.

    There's an interesting cultural difference -- in this country, you
    would be more likely to hear that you are "cruel" if you intend to
    let your cat outside!

    PAT

    I named her CAT. This may seem like a funny name until you think
    about my other cat who is called PUDDY. So I know have 2 puddycats.

    Quite a lot of people have said "You cant call it that". I completely
    disagree. I can call it what ever I want.

    My mother-in-law has a cat named "meow". It's a riot hearing her
    outside calling "meow, meow, meow".
