Mr. Tang sounds wonderful! I do hope you find him a home. Sorry, but I
don't know the ins and outs of the story, but couldn't you possible keep
    him?

    Karen (and Georgie)

You're not kidding that *most* landlords resent cats. When we rented
our townhouse and our landlord asked us if we had any pets, we told
him (stupid us-he never comes over) Well, he charged us $400 extra
damage deposit for two cats - total damage deposit=$800. But ofcourse
    the kids are worth it.

Wish I could help with Mr. Tang also. But I can't afford another
    $200.

    Robyn (and the $400 kids)

Thanks for giving me the update. I wish I could help, too but I'm
    too far away.

Lot of luck in your search for a home.

The more I read about Mr. Tang and his personality, the more I start
to think. But I'm in New Mexico-why do all these adoptions have
    to be so far away.

NOT A PROBLEM....we have managed to ship cats across the country to
a new home. It only costs approx. $35.00 to fly a cat in a carrier..
well worth the investment of a loving companion like this fella.

Gulp, let me talk to my hubby. $35.00 is not alot of money unless
your hubby just had surgery and we got bills EVERYWHERE. How long
do we have? He sounds so cute. I'll plug the hubby tonite and let
    you know.

    Keeping my fingers crossed....

Sandy, how nice of you...maybe that will help with hubby's decision.
Unless I missed it, I can't find any info if Mr. Tang is up to date
with his shots. Can anyone help?

How is Mr. Tang with other pussies? I think everyone here probably
already has a house full......would he get along ok? Maybe I can talk
to my gang of 7, and my hubby too, of course..........

First of all, let me thank Sandy and Karen for your generous offers,
you two are true, caring, people. I'm so sorry to all but I can't
have Mr. Tang. I tried and tried and cried (that usually works)
but the old-man (or should I say a**h***) said no way. I don't
understand it. He LOVES our two cats. But he said 2 was enough.
I told him everything-how people offered to pay for the air fare,
shots, everything and he said "then why don't they take him". I
just don't understand it. I am so very sorry. Next time, I guess
I better ask him first before I even think about it. That way I
won't let so many people down and hurt myself. Like I said, I tried,
failed and I'm very sorry. Must go, screen is getting blury

3695.12Thanks for trying so hard...WILLEE::MERRITTThu Jun 14 1990 13:0117
    Robyn,

Do not put that amount of pressure on yourself...Husbands aren't that
bad. I have a similiar situation...we have 3 kitties and my sister
upstairs has 4 kitties...and we also feed 2 strays that spend alot
of time in our yard. We call our yard "KITTY CITY". My husband
convinced me (it was hard) that this was our limit. I truly would
love to save all the animals in the world....but you can only do
    what you can.

That's why I am willing to help fly Mr. Tang to anyone who is willing
    to adopt him!!

Wipe the tears...cuz I'm sure Mr. Tang will be very happy wherever
    he goes....

Sandy (Tamba, Poco, Barkley from Kitty City)

Barbara - I can offer a temporary place to keep Mr. Tang out of a shelter,
but it would be in a cage. With 8 permanent residents, one who is
due to have 5 - 6 kittens on Monday, and a temporary resident stud
cat, PLUS the current territorial disputes between Dundee, Isis, and
Flame, I would have no choice but to cage Mr Tang - or at least confine
    him to one room.

Not much of a life for such a wonderful cat, but it beats the shelter.
If things get desperate, let me know. At least you have a fosterhome.
There is no way Mr. Tang would be permanent. Just so you know.
At least you have something to fall back on.

Too bad your landlord wouldn't accept an extra security deposit.

Yeah Barbara, they do get VERY proud. Now if Mom could only talk
them out of bringing home the present. Glad to hear Mr. Tang is
doing well. Please keep us posted.
