3665.0. "HONEYBEARS???" by ELMAGO::RSTOLL (If it ain't one thing, it's another) Mon Jun 04 1990 16:48

    A questions for all you breeders out there. I've searched and searched
    but nowhere can I find a note on "Honeybears". I've seen them
    advertised in Cat Fancy and one day I finally sent in for some info.
    They are the cutest little things I have seen. According to the
    info I got back from a gal in Phoenix, AZ she states "Honeybears
    are known as an experimental DNA (deoxyribonuclec acid) cats. A
    genetic breed created by man. Selective genes of a skunk were injected
    into a persian and bred" Isn't that the strangest thing you ever
    heard??? But she sent me copies of all this proof and the pictures
    are adorable...they do look like persians with their "smished" faces
    and a couple of them look like Maine Coons. Has anyone else seen
    or heard about these darlings??? I'd LOVE to be able to afford one
    but they start at $350 to $400...help!!!

    There was another note a few months back in here about Honeybears. I
    don't believe that this breed is accepted by any cat registering
    association.
