	The following mail message was awaiting me on Wednesday, May
	23.  This cat is adorable - black and white tuxedo markings -
	the minute I walked in their house and saw him, I couldn't
	resist picking him up and cuddling.  Unfortuately I have two
	very assertive cats (both hunters with claws - one even has
	several extra claws) and I'm afraid they would terrorize him -
	my vet agrees.  The owner is getting married and there is a severe
	alergy problem involved.  You can contact him (not Carlyle,
	but the one who *THINKS* he owns Carlyle) via VAXmail at
	SAFETY::JACKSON.  Carlyle lives in Pepperell, MA.  This is
	a super kitty with loads of personality - let's find him a
	home before he ends up in a shelter!  We have about a week 
	to relocate him.

     Things went a bit bonkers this weekend and I have to be rid of
     Carlyle by mid week.....yes, I do mean this week!!!
     
     We found, and made an offer, on a new house and put mine on
     the market all yesterday.  I held off showings till at least
     Thursday, and yes, I do mean this week still!!!
     
     So.  I have a friendly long haired black eight year old cat
     with white markings that needs a new home.  He's had his front
     claws removed and he is neutered.  He's timid and a bit
     skittish, but he gets used to new people very quickly.  He
     needs a home where he'll get some attention.
     
     If you can put this note or something like it in the FELINE
     notes file for me and have anyone interested in saving this
     cute and affectionate, but slightly dumb cat get in touch with
     me, I'd appreciate it immensely.

    I think you'd better line up a foster home for this guy fast.
    Less than a week to find a home during kitten season is next
    to impossible.

    How would this kitty feel about sharing a home with a 1-1/2 year old
    female ("fixed") cat.  Sparky is an indoor cat, although she loves to go
    out and play the great hunter.  If your kitty wants to be a solo act,
    since time is so short, there is a place in Salem Mass called the
    Northeast Animal shelter who will find a *good* home (prospective
    owners must be eligible and have their landlord's permission where
    applicable).  They do not put any animal to sleep.  You might try them.

    Since the cat is so quiet, maybe giving it to a nursing home
    so elderly people can give love and get love from the cat?
