3632.0. "The big bad world,from 4 inches.." by FILTON::GLOVER_P (Tangled Mothballs!!?) Thu May 24 1990 06:43

When to let your kitten outside?

Some books say after a week, and then you have to be with them so
they know where to come back to, and some say not until theyve had
their shots, but we have our own way down in deepest Bristol.

I did my normal last night which is to go outside and water the
plants in the greenhouse, normaly followed by the troup who sit and
watch the water, followed by a good hunt round the garden(the cats
    that is..)

Last night the boys were joined by Snuf. No hesitation she just
jumped outa the window and strolled down the path sniffing and crabbing
all the way until she reached the water. Being as this was her 1st
time outside I was expecting something more,a bit of hesitation
or a few nerves but nothing. She just followed the group looking
like a groupie on a night out. Not bad for being with us all of
    48 hours.

Tab on the other hand hates the outside, she doesnt like the
noises, smells,or even all that space man! Shed rather stay in with
a good book than run around the garden biting the closest tail.

Amazing this Snuf, shes the runt of her litter, has 6 toes,so does
Tab for that matter, but she's the adventure of the 2. Adopting MB
has her Dad seemed to her to be the most natural thing but even
he gets annoyed,I mean, she cant follow him everywhere, there are
some places a man needs to be alone...:-)

    Phil.

Hey! You've got Double-pawed cats! They're supposedly very common
in New England, but Bob's my first double-pawed kitty.

I remember that, two weeks after we got Oliver, he bunked off overnight
through the bathroom window! He came back the next morning, though.
