3565.0. "Non-cat HELP NEEDED!!" by JJLIET::JUDY (Caribbean bound in 5 days!) Wed May 02 1990 12:30

    	I hope the mods don't mind my putting this here but I'm
    	getting really desperate.

    	I'm getting married on Saturday. 3 of my cousins from the
    	same family are all in my wedding. So needless to say, my
    	aunt has spent a lot of money for it. What I need is
    	someone who has a ladies size small, tea-length petticoat
    	that they'd be willing to let me borrow/rent/buy *real* cheap
    	for one of my cousins to wear. My aunt can't really afford
    	to buy a new one after paying for three gowns and three pairs
    	of shoes etc.

    	Thanks!

    	JJ

    Just curious - what is tea-length?

    Lisa.

3565.2Tea-LengthCOBRA::STRYKEWed May 02 1990 14:561
    Tea length is inbetween the knee and ankle.
3565.3FENNEL::MITCHELL_VWed May 02 1990 15:427

    Where do you live? I think I can help. My sister-in-law's bridal
    party wore tea length gowns (all sisters). I'm sure I can get one.

    Regards,

    Valerie Mitchell

    Gee, Cin, just think of all the overnighter cat shows that Dave
    has missed !! He sure has missed a lot of 'fun', actually, I
    can remember some of those hotels that weren't much fun at all.
    Dave may be a lot smarter than we are by staying home ! No ant
    in the bathroom, no hotel resturant manager telling us what kind
    of people we must be, no dirty carpeting, etc., etc.

    	well.....okay, we did spend the wedding night at a B&B, but
    	I had mono and a fever of 104, so I wouldn't exactly say it
    	was a memorable occasion (altho we did somehow manage to,
    	*ahem*, legalize the marriage)... :P

    Fred and I are picking up the now-infamous (subject of "Rudeness at
    the Vet's" note 3545) kitten Larry Bird tonight for our 5th
    wedding anniversary!

    Yaaaaay!

3565.17JJLIET::JUDYThe flaky puff...Mon May 14 1990 15:3632

    	Hi gang! Yes, I decided to return...sigh! Now I'm peeling
    	and itchy from a sunburn...so much for the tan....but my arms
    	and legs have a good start anyway.

    	I missed my kitties so much while we were gone! My brother kitty-
    	sat for us and spoiled them rotten! =)

    	I missed them even more when I saw all the feral cats on the
    	island. There was a momma kitty with (no kidding) eyes the color
    	of the sea in the Caribbean. Absolutely gorgeous. Brown-tabbyish
    	she looked. And she had three kittens. (Sandi- pay attention!)
    	an all black one, one that looked like momma kitty and a tortie (?)
    	..black and golden/reddish. Momma kitty let me pet her a few
    	times. But not her babies! They take one look at you and bolt
    	right back into their little cave home.
    	Cary and I were down walking near the pier and saw a little gold
    	and white one. So me being the sappy cat lover that I am picked
    	this little cutie up. Well, I got a hiss and she tried to bite
    	me. Meowed her little heart out. I put her down and she ran for
    	cover under one of the cars.

    	Now Nancy, listen to this! One day on the path of the momma
    	kitty's cave was a cat that I swear looked like a scottish fold
    	with ears folded to the side....cream and white. Only saw him
    	once though.

    	I wanted to take them all home with me!

    	JJ

    re: .17 - Well, we used to call Jesse "Half-a-fold" because one of
    his ears was lopped over from fighting. However, I don't think
    I'd be real surprized to find a folded-ear cat in the wild. The
    first Scottish fold was, after all, a white barncat.

    re: .18 - Well, congratulations!! Makes 4 yrs look like a honeymoon,
    eh?

    	a barncat?  I didn't know that...interesting.  He was very
    	content to just sit there and let me pet him. But I only
    	saw him that one time.

3565.21CRUISE::NDCPutiput Scottish Folds - DTN: 297-2313Wed May 16 1990 08:243
    Yes, the Scottish Folds have very humble roots. Guess that's why
    they're so down-to-earth.  :-)
