3549.0. "Morris look alike and grey cats need new homes" by FRAGLE::PELUSO (PAINTS; color your corral) Thu Apr 26 1990 15:00

    Two neutered male cats need a new home because they arn't adjusting
    to the new baby. I guess they are peeing everywhere and acting
    generally distructive. The owners, Deccies, have tried several
    things, but the cats attitudes have turned around 100% and they
    ain't happy. A third isn't phased by the whole ordeal.

    He would like to find a home fro them or get them placed in a no kill
    shelter - I am working on that....

    Details:

    11 yr old neutered grey cat. about 16 lbs, declawed in the front

    4 yr old neutered orange tiger `morris' cat. about 20 lbs, also
    	declawed in the front.

    The people seem distraugt over the whole thing, but are having a tough
    time solving this dilemna.....so if anyone know of a potential home...
    please contact me at DTN 234-4678

3549.1There is a NO-kill shelter!CURIE::GEO_TEMPFri Apr 27 1990 12:1710
    There is a no-kill shelter in Sterling. It's also a boarding kennel,
    located off of Rte 62 I believe. I'll try and find the number and
    write it in later, but if not, look under Sterling Shelter/Boarding.
    We've been there and it appears to be well run and the best part is
    that the cats are in a whole different building from the dogs. (!)
    They will ask for food for a week and litter, and a donation to help
    with costs; they will also ask for information about the animal(s)
    to pass on to potential adopters.
    Hope it helps!!

3549.2Woops, Hold on there!!!CURIE::GEO_TEMPTue May 01 1990 15:037
    Hold on there. I just got word from another person that Sterling
    shelter could very well be "questionnnable". I'd rather detract
    my last note and wait 'til I find out if the place is okay. I'll
    keep in touch. Sorry for any possible confusion, but as Nancy says
    'better to play it safe', and I agree.

3549.3personality profile neededWR1FOR::BROMARTHTheresa BromarMon May 07 1990 20:224
    Hi. Could you give me a personality profile of the Morris type cat?
    Also, where are you located?

    Thanks!

    I haven't seen either cat, but I'll have the owner send a pic if
    your interested. He is located in Central Mass, but don't let
    that discourage you, several FELINERS have experience flying cats
    from coast to coast. This guy does need a home, as his owners are
    getting frustrasted.

    Send mail to FRAGLE::PELUSO, and give me an address to send a pic or
    two  to.

3549.5HOW ABOUT A FOSTER HOMEFRICK::AMCGOWANThu May 10 1990 11:0910
    Is there anyone out there who would be willing to be a foster parent to
    these kitties for a while. There are a number of us working with
    finding a home for them but the owners are getting restless and I am
    afraid that they will resort sending the poor things to a pound. This
    whole thing has really upset me. I just don't know how people can be
    so cold and uncaring. Anyway, I am hoping that someone can provide a
    home for now. These guys should be a piece of cake to care for.
    Declawed, litter trained and good natured. How about it folks??

3549.6A LITTLE MORE INFOFRICK::AMCGOWANFri May 11 1990 14:436
    Just another bit of info with regards to these kitties. I was talking
    to the owner today. He said that the grey kitty loves to be loved. Of
    the two, he is the most affectionate. If you sit down, he is on your
    lap. If you lay down, he is on your chest. Purrs all of the time, and
    loves to be held and cuddled. Sounds like a wonderful companion. Just
    hope that we can find him a good home.

    Did the orange tiger Morris look-alike get adopted? If not, could
    you describe his personality for us? Thanks!
3549.8MORE ABOUT THE KITTIESFRICK::AMCGOWANWed May 16 1990 14:1710
    The owner just gave me a picture of each of these kitties today. They
    are simply GORGEOUS! He told me that both kitties are extremely
    affectionate. In fact, this is the main reason for finding new homes
    for them. They are constantly looking for attention. Both are good
    natured, clean and very healthy. The orange tiger is still available
    as far as I know. If you want more info you can call the owner, Dan,
    at 234-4619. As I said, I have pictures of both kitties. Are you the
    person from California?? Call Dan, both kitties are still available.
