3521.0. "Help! I'm having a kitty!!" by MIVC::MTAG () Thu Apr 12 1990 17:36

    I was talking with my mother this morning and among other things, were
    discussing the impending birth of my first child, due May 26. When I
    asked her if she wanted a grandson or granddaughter, she told me she
    dreamt I was having a kitty!!! I'm glad I haven't had this dream yet.

3521.1Kittens, OK ... dead birds, NO!!YGREN::JOHNSTONbean sidheThu Apr 12 1990 17:5611
when I was pregnant I dreamed I had kittens from time to time. that didn't
bother me too much. after all, I love cats.

I had a couple springer spaniels in my dreams too. and still I had no trouble
getting to sleep at night.

however, when I dreamed I gave birth to a roast turkey that had to be
put back because it wasn't ready yet I began to dread what the nights would
bring ...

I've heard people use the phrase "something in the oven" when referring to
pregnancy.

    When I was in high school some friends and I had a running joke that
    I was having puppies. I wasn't pregnant, just a little wierd I guess.

3521.4Can you tell what breed your giving birth to?FENNEL::SPINGLERFri Apr 13 1990 09:4210

    Gee, when we wnated cats, we just went to the animal shelter. Isn't
    giving birth kinda the hard way?? ;-) Sorry, I always used to say
    that I wouldn't have kids, just "kitties."

    Of course, I WOULD RATHER have kittens, as they weigh in
    at under a pound! :-)

re.4

"regular' kittens, except for one chocolate tiger-point Himilayan, usually at
about the 4-month-old development stage.

most of them had at least vestigal stripes.

I agree, though, that the shelter is a preferable alternative. if for no other
reason than that shelter kittens stick around longer than those one gives
birth to in dreams ...

    1 pound versus how many kittens in a birthing session. Stick to having
    babies and rescuing kittens from the shelters. Good luck on your
    impending baby. If it's a girl, maybe you should name it *KITTY*???
