3496.0. "spring is in the air??" by BRAT::GERMANN () Thu Apr 05 1990 10:27
This little scene happened this morning and I am trying to figure it
out.
While I was getting breakfast for my son and me, I heard the typical
cat howling going on outside. I looked out the window to see the three
males in the neighborhood (who are all neutered) in a triangle with the
standard stance and howls of males who are confronting one another.
There they were - my Bob who is long haired (and did he look wild with
all that hair sticking straight out!!!), Zachary who is Bob's
littermate and best friend, and Sidney who lives across the street.
Well, they were really getting in to it and the girls (Esmarelda, Zelda
and Bitser) were getting interested, so I went out on the back porch to
see if I could distract them. I called Bob and the three of them
looked up at me, looked at each other one more time, and then ALL came
up to me for pets and love at the same time. It was like I had turned
a switch!!! I've never seen these guys argue like they were, they
really tend to co-exist quite peacefully. In fact, Zachary and Bob
quite often can be found sleeping in the sun together.
Maybe they were trying to impress each other? or some other cat? or
feeling spring? What kooks!!!

Hmmm....2 hours and 25 minutes I got away with that... It MUST be
spring!!! On a good day you ladies wouldn't have let me get away with
that statement for more'n 5 minutes!!!
