3435.0. "They come to visit.....my cats!" by BOOVX1::MANDILE () Mon Mar 19 1990 10:41

The nice weather has brought me "visitors". The kids in the
neighborhood "discovered" my two Korats last year. Korats are
absolutely the funniest, daffiest toy players you have ever seen.
Mine will fetch, chase you and be chased, play tag, and do
what seems to amaze the kids the most; Leap into the air after
tossed toys. Casey & B.K. love to play "catch the air toy".
Hubby & I sit on opposite sides of the livingroom, and toss
a toy back and forth. B.K. & Casey do flips, dives, somersaults,
bounce off the furniture, hang upside down from the cat tree, to
try to catch the toy. They do not want to "catch it", mind you.
B.K. is almost 100% accurate at catching the toy. But he is so
disappointed when he does because I swear he thinks the game is
over. B.K. has jumped 4+ feet in the air, caught the toy, twisting
himself into a pretzel all the while, BUT, he always lands on his feet.
Casey, on the other hand, is not nicknamed Grace. His objective
is to get the toy, and the hell with how (or what on) he lands.

The kids think this is great, and drop in constantly to play.
I'm going to have to call and ask if they will limit it to
1-2 a week. Every day is a bit much!

My Silvy-poo, who I think might be part Korat, has a favorite game
of ball. I throw one of those sponge balls and he will hit it with
his paw back to me. He's got one heck of a right, that cat!

The rest of my guys all love those sponge balls, too. We can play for
a long time, just throwing them across the house and having the whole
bunch stampeding across the room after it.

Becky and Velcro just try to hatch the sponge balls we have. It's
really funny to see them bat it a little then try to push it under them
and sit on it. They also do this with the rectangular catnip toys
after the "newness" wears off. Maybe they are part hen? :-)
