3434.0. "Yum! want some more, mom!" by BOOVX1::MANDILE () Mon Mar 19 1990 10:15

Well, week 1 has gone by, and Rusty seems to be stable and
able to "go" without pain. The water & fiber added to the
food is doing the trick. Of course, the newness of the
different food is wearing off. Everyone, including Rusty,
are not as excited about the "concoction". But, they
absolutely adore the Science Hill dry catfood. They went
through the 10 lb bag in 6 days!!! Does this stuff come
in larger bags? Are there any places to get it where it
would be less expensive then through the vets? The vet
only buys in small amounts, maybe the top Pet Stores carry
it and buy in larger quantities for lower pricing???

    Thanks from the Crew,

Lynne, Rusty, Pepper, B.K. & Casey

I don't know where you live/work, but I purchase it at Erickson's Grain
Mill on Rt 27 in Acton MA. I know that Boston Pet in Waltham carries
it, too,as does the Breeder's Pride Chain. (The Debby's Petland chain
doesn't but is an Iams distributor)

Pet Foods Plus in Merrimack NH carrys it. My cats won't touch it.
They would rather starve (including Thunder who eats anything).

where are you located? I feed it and have several sources in the
    Westboro - Uxbridge area.

I live in the Middleboro, MA area, but have connections for
Eriksons grain in Acton,MA, The Burlington, Ma and the Framingham
MA area. A 20 lb bag sounds good. Westbor is not that far if
    the size/$$$ is good.

Lynne (P.S.- 3 out of 4 could stand a few lbs!)

    	Where is middleboro????? Near uxbridge????

Consumer Pets in WEstmeadow plaza sells SD, Iams ect....Westboro.
I buy the cans for roughly $23 - $25/per case. there is a new pet
supply store in westboro - competition!!!!! So maybe they'll have
    	a price war!

Coutry side Farm & Garden in Uxbridge is real cheap for pet food.
They have a large selection and offer discount prices on large
quantities (Well I buy 1000lbs of grain every few weeks, not sure
how it compares to the pet food)but their prices are the best
    around!

I believe it is in the Julio's shopping plaza, right near the card
store. ( I think it used to be a clothing store). If I go by,
I'll get the name......but there should be some competition.....
3434.8I'm way at the end of 495....BOOVX2::MANDILETue Mar 20 1990 09:0116
Middleboro is 495S towards the Cape. (I'm off exit 4)
Westboro is about 45 mins or so from me. I buy my horse's
grain from Ventura Grain in Taunton, and I only buy 400 lbs
about every 6 weeks or so. I get a good deal as I'm a steady
customer, but they don't sell specialty cat or dog food.
I will be calling the local feed stores and we also have
a pet food specialty store a few towns away. Maybe they
carry S Hill. Worst case I can wait until my monday meeting
in Maynard and swing by Eriksons Grain on the way home.
Does Eriksons carry the 20 lb bags of the S Hill Dry Maintenance
    catfood?

    Thx,

Yes. If you don't see any 20lb bags on display, ask. The large bags of
stuff (including bird seed) are usually kept in the storage building.

BTW - Its Hills Science Diet, not Science Hill, tho that's an
    interesting name.
Just to make sure folks know what you're talking about.

3434.11They should rename it just for me!BOOVX2::MANDILEWed Mar 21 1990 14:0214
And I rec'd a coupon for this stuff for $2 off! Talk about JIT!

The name and address is: Hill's Pet Products
                              PO Box 1117
    			      Jeffersonville, IN 47130

In case you want to contact them. I have contacted many of the
petfood customer service depts to get my name on the mailing lists.
They send you the coupons, free samples, special offers, etc. on their
    products.
