Well, look at it this way. If you were a bit nervous
about successfully cooking the thing (having never done
it before), the kitty saved you from all that stress! *8^}
It also seems that your efforts were indeed appreciated!

to try out one of your sushi bars!

| Your *stomach on legs* did indeed do you a favor.
My ex-husband used to bring home fish that he had caught. Bluefish,
catfish, etc. I knew that I not only had to cook it, but I also had
to *EAT IT*!!!!! YECH!!!!YECH!!!!!YECH!!!!
The only kind of fish I like is *white* fish as in tuna or flounder or
haddock.

Me, I hate fish. I'm one of those people who goes to a seafood
restaurant and orders chicken or steak. Now Rusty likes the taste of
white tuna....and steak (silly me, left a roast to defrost on the
counter and went shopping - got home and guess what? You got it.)

| ...reminds me of the time I came back from the supermarket and went upstairs
to change before putting everything away. After about 1/2 an hour I thought
it was a bit strange because Henri hadn't followed me upstairs like she
normally does when I get home, and Sophie had that "she's doing something
naughty, mummy!" look on her face.
I went downstairs to see white paper in shreds all over the kitchen, and Henri
looking up at me with a big, juicy Salmon steak hanging from her mouth!
She knew she'd been naughtly though - like humans she must feel - if it's THAT
good it must be naughty! She immediately ran and hid behind the sofa with it,
still in her mouth.
We had baked beans on toast for dinner that evening.

3428.8 | A little scoop of this and a little scoop of that | ISLNDS::BROUGH | | Mon Mar 19 1990 12:03 | 16 |
| This story is not as cute as the previous one, but I think that
it is still cute just the same. I feed my Pixie and Dixie soft
canned stuff before I go to work at 7:00 am and then I feed them
some more when I get home at 5:30 pm. At night, before going to
bed, I give them hard stuff. One afternoon I gave the little monsters
just enough food so that when they finished, I'd take their dish
and go wash it out, so a couple of hours later when I went down
to get their dish, there was Pixie using his hand as a scoop, scooping
the hard food out of the box and stuffing his face with it (I leave
the hard food boxes next to a tool box on my workbence). I think
that he thought that he hadn't had enough, so he was just helping
himself. Cute I thought, cute.

3428.9 | Abbey's Porkchop | WR2FOR::HARPHAM_LY | | Mon Mar 19 1990 18:02 | 11 |

All of these stories remind me of the time we had left a pork
chop in the broiler/toaster oven after dinner. Abbey somehow
discovered it, and pulled down the little door to get a better
look (and sniff!). Despite the fact that she had to simultaneously
hold the door to the oven open with one paw while grabbing the pork
chop with the other paw (and a couple of sharp teeth), she managed
quite nicely!

3428.11 | well, Hannah "polices" the food | FORTSC::WILDE | Ask yourself..am I a happy cow? | Tue Mar 20 1990 15:34 | 9 |
| Here's a wierd one....Hannah not only doesn't steal food...she jumps on
anyone else she catches trying to do it. Literally. Sam tried to steal
some canned food from Nick (the skinny one) last night and Hannah jumped
him and bit his rump - from the way Sam squealed, she bit hard. She
then walked away from the food dish without even a sniff -- which allowed
Nickie to finish his dinner. She also "watches" the kitchen counter
and table, preventing any furry invaders from helping themselves. I
have no idea who appointed her boss, but she apparently is quite happy
with the position, so I don't complain. A very wierd cat, this one.
