| Let us know when you're ready and we'll help you find one if you need
assistance. I love finding homes for kitties!
Maybe you should consider 2. I did and won't go back to 1 now. They love
each other and play all the time. It's great!
Take care,
Sonia

| lor...
so glad you have made the decision. i agree with going for a "slightly
different" look. after my sealpoint siamese, cissy, died, i knew i
could not go with another sealpoint, even though i adore siamese. it
would have reminded me too much of cissy. so i went with stella, whose
mother was frost point siamese, father "from a good family". stella
has a lot of the siamese traits--the body type, the slanted eyes, the
wedge-shaped face, the small oval paws (which are very silvery!) but
because she was different, i never found myself "comparing" her to
cissy.
and then stanley, the stray, came into our lives, saying "two cats can
live as cheaply as one, please take me in..." am i glad i did! much
good luck to you...

| Wegies look very similar to Maine Coons, and those of us that aren't
trained in the breeds have a little trouble telling them apart
sometimes. The Wegies have shorter, broader heads than Maine Coons,
but have the same type of medium length, shaggy coat of the Maine.
I know a breeder in Illinios if you decide you want more info.

| I looked thru this file, but didn't see any note pertaining to all
the different types of breeds. There are notes on individual breeds,
but not a note combining all the different types of breeds and their
characteristics. Is there such a note? If not, would it make sense to
have a note like this?

I think it makes alot of sense to have individual notes on each breed, but
think one note discussing all breeds would be a nightmare and would make
it real difficult to find anything useful.
By the way, I have a book on cats that has a page or two on each breed with
an illustration of each breed and a description of characteristics, etc.
Actually, most cat books have that information to some extent. One of the
problems with the books is that new breeds are recognized all the time so
the book gets outdated. For example, I am the proud owner of a Norwegian
Forest Cat and only about half of them cat books I look at even acknowledge
the breed.

| While we are all recommending breeds, I must put in my plug for
a Birman! Incredible blue eyes, exotic look of a cat with colorpoints,
but with that flash of white feet! And sweet too!! The ultimate
lap cat...

| Jo, the blue eyes will get 'em everytime!!! At least it always did
when I bred Himmy's!!!
Gee, I wonder if my Exotics have an "exotic" look!!! ;-)
cin...who loves the flat faces, even if they don't have blue eyes!

| Yeah, go for the Birman! You can't get a cat with a better
temperament; if I bred them myself I would almost venture to guarantee
their loving and affectionate natures. Course their beauty is a
big plus as well.

| Cin, you have to ask? Just ask anyone who has seen my Lil ??
She may not have blue eyes, but she has huge copper eyes and a
flat face! It's those eyes that get ya every time!

| re: breeds - I think you should consider a scottish fold! They
are quite unique looking and I just happen to know a breeder who's
getting out of the breeding biz and has a litter he will want to
place in about 2 months. They are only about 2 wks old now.
