Fluffy is my pit bull. Smokey my other cat died suddenly last Saturday
night. Lucky is lonely and needs a little friend. But I want to color
coordinate them (hehehehehe) hence the request for a pure-white angora
    kitten with green eyes....

    			Did ya like Fluffy?

3330.3NRADM1::LEWISWed Feb 14 1990 10:2611
    Sorry to hear about Smokey.

Fluffy is a PIT BULL??? Funny, I've never seen a fluffy pit bull
before. And how does Fluffy feel about cats??

Can't say that I like Fluffy never having the pleasure of meeting
him/her.....Just happened to have read of him in another Notesfile
    which shall remain nameless ;').

Fluffy is a short-haired pit bull. He's lovely. Fluffy loves cats.
If you would like to meet Fluffy, I can have him put outside of your
    cubicle.....

Another notesfile? Ashamed to admit the name?

Sure, send Fluffy over....I'm in NRO2. Ashamed to admit the name
of the Notesfile? Nah, since I don't contribute...just read. It's
the infamous Soapbox....I must admit, you tend to liven up the
    conversations there!

I have made arrangements to have Fluffy taken to your facility in his
iron box with the chains in the front. Look for him. The box is
    silver colored.

Chicken to contribute? I'm not ashamed, but I just don't want my
infamous reputation to get in the way of my gentler persona here in
    Feline.......

As for livening up the "box" that is impossible. Right now it's about
as exciting as a 5 cent cigar........

3330.7NRADM1::LEWISWed Feb 14 1990 14:4313
Great! Are you going to send the key too or does Fluffy have
    to stay in his box?

Chicken to contribute? Nope, just wouldn't have the time for
    1000 replies on everything.....plus I might say something I'd
regret to certain individuals! It gives me a good laugh from time
    to time.

Gentler persona? I'll have to ask Fluffy about that....

Um... do you have any idea what happened to Smokey? And would
you like his/her name added to the Silver Lining Memorial list?

3330.9I'm still greiving....THEBUS::GAGNONUOB-Pit Broad from HadesWed Feb 14 1990 16:0010
All I know is that one minute Smokey was sitting beside me on the stool
in the kitchen playing with some scraps of things that I was working
on, I went to take a shower and he got down and was with me briefly,
when I came out from my shower he was lying on the floor dead. It was
    very sudden.

What is the Silver Lining Memorial list? Yes, I would. Thank you.

Fluffy has his own key to get out......... He will be hungry.....
he likes raw meat. Preferably human meat.....

So don't contribute to the box.....and lose out on all the fun....

Gina - I'm sorry about Smokey, too. It's difficult enough to lose a
cat, even worse when it's quick and unexplained.

Fwiw, I've met Fluffy, and I've never seen a kinder, gentler pit bull
    anywhere :^}

Smokey's death was very hard on myself and my husband. As he had no
signs of illness or was not acting strangely it was a real shock. I
administered mouth-to-mouth on him but there was no responce. It was
like he had a heart attack or something. Or a shock. There was not a
mark on him. I was in shock myself over it. He was almost 9 years old
and a gentler more sweet cat I had never had. Yes, he and Lucky fought
sometimes, but in general would eat together and lay side by side
looking out the window for hours......

Fluffy is the soul of gentleness........

Then I most certainly will add him to the list.

For more details on the Silver Lining Memorial see note 2228.
Basically we make a donation once a quarter to deserving animal
agencies in memory of all those cats - and some dogs too - who have
    passed away during that quarter.

Some of our recipients have included:
    Bide-a-wee foundation
    Robert Winn Foundation (multiple)
    Nashoba Valley Humane
    Cocheco Valley Humane
    Framingham Humane Association
    Animal Umbrella
    Animal Orphanage
    Animal Placement services

Total donation values have ranged from $100 for a quarter to a big
total of $240 for last quarter.

The donation is voluntary and anonymous. I coordinate the awards
and choice of recipient is based on requests - usually from folks
    who have suffered a loss.

    Donations can be sent to:
      Nancy Diettrich-Cunniff
      PO Box 157
      Maynard, Ma 01754

Those commemorated have included pets of friends of FELINERS as well
as pets of FELINERs. Basically any animal that touches our lives in
    any way is eligible.

The idea is for a bit of good to come out of something sad and for
the memory of our animal friends to help other less fortunate
    furfaces.

    Hope it helps.

Gina, I'm very sorry about Smokey. Perhaps it is some comfort
to you that it happened so quickly that he couldn't have been in
distress, but I know how you must miss him.
