3265.0. "CHARLIE DID WONDERFUL!!!!" by SHARE::WESTON () Fri Jan 19 1990 14:12
THIS IS AN UPDATE, FROM NOTE: 3258 ON CHARLIE - Stray who was spayed,
yesterday.
I picked her up at 12:30 P.M. today, and she was great. For an outside
stray, she is a BOUNCE-BACK cat.........
The nurse said she held her alot and she has purred quite often, she
was a little upset to back in the carrier, but she laid down and slept
and purred. As I gave them the F.O.A. (FRIENDS OF ANIMALS)certificate,
I was told the VET donated a Distemper Shot and (I THINK) FELV shot, I
was surprised. As you might of guessed from the note of 3258. I had
been previously upset with the attitude of $$$$ being most important
and the work I and all of us are trying to do to prevent unwanted
kitties.
I feel real good about it today, and hope this is of things to come for
a while.
I sat with CHARLIE in our garage and let her sniff around and look
around. She laid on a couple of blankets, walked around, sought out the
litter box, and went on her own, WHAT A GOOD GIRL!!!!!!! She ate a
bit, and purred and rubbed up against me. I think I could of stayed
with her all afternoon, but being a contractor, I couldn't afford it. I
got some milk for her and a mouse (DONATED BY SCRUFFY!) and she seemed
contented.
I think I'll be able to keep her their (fingers crossed!!!!!!!) for a
while, if not the duration of 10 days. They put in sutchers, which
have to be taken out. I asked directly for disolvable ones, and for
some reason, he changed his mind. This upsets me a bit, but will be
O.K. if Charlie hangs in there with us. I think she'll be a great
adoptee, and has one person possibly interested.
"Just wanted to spread GOOD NEWS, as we all
need it!" And hope to have more to come........

| I found out that one of the vets that works in my vets office has
organized a little group in her area - people were complaining about
the birth rate with the ferals and she is personally nutering/spaying
these babies for NOTHING!!! All these "concerned" people need to
do is get them to her.
Hearing this made me feel so very good!

3265.2 | Some vets do care...... | BOOVX1::MANDILE | | Mon Jan 22 1990 15:59 | 10 |
| The vet that took care of my Noel (3199) threw in
the first kitten shots for nothing when I brought
her in for her injury.
This is also the vet that is treating the kitten
that was shot by the arrow at no charge.
There are some vets who do care, and this guy
is one of them!

| That's great news Carol. Keep up the good work.
Hope the vet's behavior helped to restore your faith.
I have run into a lot of really caring people. It
certainly helps me to keep going.
