3253.0. "Welcome Lucky......" by THEBUS::GAGNON (UOB-Pit Broad from Hades) Wed Jan 17 1990 15:10
I too have a cat we named "Lucky." Lucky was lucky to have found us.
I was home on STD back in November and looked out my window to see this
poor cat staggering around in my yard. I flew outside and brought in
this big grey/white darling who was limping and bleeding from the mouth
and nose. Frightened though he was he let me carry him inside and
chech him over. I found that he had a broken nose, cuts and bruises
and a slight concussion - the vet verified my findings. He felt that
Lucky had been hit by a car or thrown from a car. With much
tender loving care by three weeks later Lucky was no longer in bad
shape and had begun to settle in. I found him on November 13th. When
he got better I put notices up in the local establishments
(Westminster, Ma) hoping to find his owners but no one came forward to
claim him. He's about three or four years old, grey above and pure
pure white below with the most gorgeous yellow-green-black eyes I've
ever seen. And what a temperament. I mean, you can do anything with
this animal. Gentle, never puts a claw out, well trained in the litter
box department but sloppy when he eats........ He sleeps with us now
and has become a regular member of the family complete with his
favorite spots.
The only problem is my other older cat Smokey. I've had Smokey about 8
years. Smokey is a nutered dark grey Russian Blue type. He lost his
good buddy (Omar-Khyham - blue-point siamese) a couple of years ago.
Since then he has been pampered to the 9th....... Now Smokey who could
tolerate a sick cat, yea even helped care for Lucky when he was ill,
cannot stand to be in the same room. They are fighting like cats and
dogs! At first Lucky with his good temper would let Smokey push him
around and he would lie down (he's much bigger than Smokey) and just
meow at him. Now Lucky is getting his just desserts by jumping on
Smokey and pinning him to the ground and chewing on his neck. But I
know that these two will become very good friends in no time at all....
There are two other kitties who live in my yard which I feed and
eventually they too will be moving in........ Stay tuned for stories
of Mittons and Tiger......

| Yes, Lucky is lucky... and so are you. He sounds wonderful. Good luck
with Lucky and Smokey becoming friends, and introducing the other two
to the family.

| We had a foster cat named Lucky - for the same reason.
He is lucky to have wandered into your yard.
