I have been looking for quite some time for a white cat with blues eyes,
but I certainly would love to have one with one blue and one green eye!!
Could you call me?

| For the same reason they dumped note #3199 off in my
front yard. They think everyone who has a barn does
not mind another cat. Only they dumped off a kitten
with FeLV. These people should spend some time in
my front yard on a -10 below night with no food, shelter
or water in Dec, and see how it feels!!!! This makes
me angry, so I will pull out my "baby" pictures and
calm down....

| I would love to but we ALREADY have 4 cats. He is not being accepted by
them very well.
I would love to find him a good home.

| Ira and I spoke this morning and he mentioned that the cat is now in
New York and maybe staying there. He'll let me know on Thursday what he
and his wife decides. His last line of the previous note has left me a
bit angry -- are your suggesting that I do not provide a good home for my
cats or could for this cat? I'm hoping that is not your intention but after
talking with you I'm not sure.

3247.6 | I think I've seen that kitty... | HPSCAD::KNEWTON | There's no place like home... | Tue Jan 16 1990 16:57 | 12 |
| I think I may know the cat you found. I believe the cat belongs to
someone in the condo complex next door to the Wildwood. I used to live
there and saw a white cat around quite often. The cat would sleep in
the dumpster. He wasn't around all the time, so I assumed someone
owned him. I don't think the owner took very good care of him though,
because he'd be out on some pretty cold nights. I would have loved to
have let him come in, but hubby would have thrown me and the kitty out
the door.
I'm glad to hear he may have found a home where he'll get better care.

re -.2 - Marian , I was not implying the sort. I certainly think that anyone
who could provide the home that you could for the strays youve
rescued is extremely caring. My statement was general, not
directed towards you or anyone else. I just wanted the cat to
be happy.
re -.1 I believe this may be the same cat. Was it all white short hair.
If it was then I will go back to the condo complex and look for
its owner and have a talk with him. I think that anyone who
keeps a cat out at night forcing him to sleep in a dumpster should
try that himself and see how it feels.
Fluff is comming home today. My inlaws are still deciding if they want Fluff.

| Ira,
It seems obvious that the previous owners of the cat didn't care enough
about it or they would have taken care of it's ear problems. Talking
from experience with bad ear infections in a cat (found my D.P. Gremlin
abandoned in back of a church as a kitten with both ears badly infected
and he was malnourished). D.P. is white with a couple of grey markings
on head and ring around end of tail. He had the odd colored eyes when
little but they're both a light color green now. I wouldn't part with
him nor any of my other 4.
If you don't have a home for him in your family, Marian sounds like
she'd give him a loving home.

| Yes, the cat I saw was a short-haired white cat. He would come to you
if you called him to be petted.
Everytime I see a kitty that hangs around a certain place a lot, I
always wonder if it's the kitty choice or if the owners just don't have
sense enough to bring them in. If the kitty was always hanging around
the doors to be let in, then I would suspect that the owners neglect
to see if they want to come in. Otherwise, the kitty might just rather
be outside. If they look sick or malnurished, then I guess it would be
obvious. This cat looked a little scruffy, but not malnurished or
sickly. I would be afraid to intervene, if the owners really do care
about the cat and expect it to come home on its own.
This is why I'd be sceptical about taking in what appears to be a
stray unless it looked sickly.

| You could always put a collar on the cat with a note on it for the
owners to call you. If no one calls, it is lost or stray.

| From what I've heard I'd just keep the cat - or place it. I would
not try to return it. I wondered for a while about Jesse but when
I saw him with an infected food and getting no obvious treatment, I
decided that even if he did have a "family" they were not fit to have
him.
One other thing - Have this cat FLV tested. Just to protect your cats
or other cats.

| Update on Puff
My inlaws have decided to take Puffer in a couple of weeks. He is quite happy
and is now in good health (ear problems etc). He was altered last week
and is doing quite well. He will live the good life in Newburgh, NY on the
banks of the Hudson River. Thanks to all who helped here.
