3243.0. "What do I do????????" by BARTLE::BARRL (My own account!) Mon Jan 15 1990 09:51

I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. I just found
out recently that I'm expecting a baby at the end of July, so I
had to find a bigger apartment. I'm moving into a new apartment on
the first of February and unfortunately, my landlord will not allow me
to bring my cat with me, so I need to find her a new home. I'm very
saddend by this because I've had Snorkel for almost two years and
she's become quite a good friend.

Please don't suggest I look for another apartment, because this
apartment is perfect in every way except for the fact that they don't
allow pets. Also don't suggest that I try and sneak her in, cause
    that won't work either.

If anyone can provide her with a good home, please get in touch
with me through mail, as I don't read this conference that often.

    Thanks,
    Lori B.

3243.1More info about Snorkel......BARTLE::BARRLMy own account!Mon Jan 15 1990 12:1019
I just received mail from someone suggesting I enter a few more
details regarding Snorkel, so here goes.

    She's a short haired calico.
She's three years old, but is the size of a kitten (about 3 - 5
    lbs).
She's spayed and declawed (front's only).
She's strictly and indoor only cat.
She's pretty friendly once she gets used to you.
She likes to sleep at the foot of my bed (usually between my feet!).
She does not like other cats, so it probably would be best if she
went to a home where there weren't any other cats.
She's very quiet and hardly ever meows (except if she's hungry).
She'll eat any kind of food you give her.

If you'd like to know more about her, send me mail.

    Thanks,
    Lori B.
3243.2THINK ABOUT IT!!CIVIC::MAZOLAMon Jan 15 1990 12:4922
    Hi Lori,

That's too bad you won't try and sneak her in.. she sounds like THE
    purr-fect cat..

We moved into a complex that didn't allow pets either, but we wouldn't
give up Buddy and we snuck him in... and it's a good thing we did,
because come to find out, there are a lot of people that have cats
(and other small animals in their apartments)

I can understand you not wanting to though, cuz then you'ld have to
sneak her to the vet or sneak her to a groom or anywhere for that
    matter.

I sympathize with you, this must be very hard for you.

You might ask the new landlord if you could have the cat with you on
a trial basis if you paid an extra deposit for damages.

    re: .3

That won't work. She knows that I have a cat and she's already
told me that under no circumstances were pets allowed. She's had
problems in the past. She also said that if she were to make an
exception for me, she'd have to do it for the other tenants in the
    house.

    Good Luck Lori.

    Where are you located?

If you get to having to move and haven't found a place call me and
I'll give you some names of "no kill" shelters that you may be able
to take you little girl to.

Don't you hate it when you have to suffer because of other people being
    irresponsible!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've found a home for Snorkel.
Janet and her husband from note #3242 (Willie's mom and dad) have
decided to adopt her. I'm very happy to know that she's going to
a home where she'll be loved as she deserves (even though it's sad
for me to have to give up such a great cat).

    Thanks again,
    Lori B.
