3236.0. "Temp. home needed for my nephew-cat" by NHASAD::KRINER (tanstaafl) Thu Jan 11 1990 15:04
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to help my brother find a temporary home for his cat. David
(my brother) is in the Navy, and the housing that he's currently in told
him to get rid of the cat or they would evict him. However, once he
finishes technical school (in about 10 months) and is stationed
somewhere, he can have the cat (so they say... I personally don't trust
the Navy). Anyway, David is currently in Vallejo, CA, so if anyone
knows of someone who would be willing to give Grimley a home for about
10 months, please help.
About Grimley, he's an 8 yr old male, black shorthair.
He's neutered, has had all his shots, and is littertrained.
He's an indoor/outdoor cat, and is not declawed.
He's a good mouser, and is good with kids.
*********************
As a last resort, if we can't find a place for Grimley out there, I'll
take him in until David can take him back. In that case, I'd like to
know if someone is flying from the Oakland/S.F area to either the Boston
area or the Albany, NY area in the near future, who would be willing to
carry him. I'll take care of any extra expenses involved.
Please help. I'm NOT letting the Navy kill this cat!

| Hi there,
After you and I spoke last week about your brother's cat, I contacted
my friend whose stationed in Novato with the Navy. They have five
cats, and are allowed to have them. Matt said that when they first
arrived in the bay area, they had temporary housing in Vallejo,
and were allowed the cats then. Anyway, I will check with Matt
to see if a home can be found for your brother's cat with one of
the people stationed there now, and then maybe your brother can
get the cat back when he gets into permanent housing. If I could,
I would take in his cat, but I can't have an indoor/outdoor cat,
and don't have any extra rooms for isolation right now.

3236.2 | Grimley's got a place to stay | NHASAD::KRINER | tanstaafl | Fri Jan 19 1990 10:31 | 8 |
| Good news. David called me last night to let me know that Grimley was
taken care of. It seems that Friends of Animals found a pair of
retirees that live nearby, who will give Grimley a "foster home" until
David & family can take Grimley back.
