I thought you folks might like to read a mail message I got from
a friend and fellow animal lover! You can ignore the part about
the aerobics room :-)
Its nice to know folks like this are out there.
BTW - Jack-the-dog is a German Shepard (this is to distinguish
him from "Jack-my-husband")
Jetti (short for Jetsem) is their cat.

Hi Nancy:
Do you know the status on the aerobics room? I ate so much over
the weekend...I NEED to exercise!
You would be proud of me - we took in a homeless/lost doggie over
the X-mas weekend. She was outside of our local grocery store for about
6 hours in the cold on Saturday. The cashier said she'd been out there
since early morning.
Lyle put her in the truck and brought her home. Her paws and pads
were frozen and raw. We warmed her up and fed her. Called the dog officer
and she told us there was nothing she could do until Tuesday. We called
the dog officer yesterday - but were unable to reach her.
She is a sweet little german shepherd. Jack-the-dog gets along with
her well - they never fight. Jack allowed her in our house with no hassles.
I had enough x-mas presents to make sure she had something to open on x-mas
morning. Even Jetti likes her!!
I'm going to keep trying to find her home. Somebody loves her and
is missing her. BUT, they weren't smart enough to put an address/phone #
on her collar. No smart...
See ya,
C

Nancy-
do you know what town the dog was found in? If it was local to
me, I'd like to see him, as I might know where he belongs.
Michele
p.s.
He's probably lost. When I took home a stray, the dog officer
suggested calling ALL dog officers in a 25 mile radius from the
spot he was found. They were all very nice and helpful, many were
able to give other towns D.O.'s phone numbers and best time to
call.
Please let me know what happens....

Cindy wrote to me later to say that the dog's owners had
been found and were coming to pick Mary up that afternoon.
Cindy was almost disappointed because Mary was such a nice
dog.
Another happy ending.
Thanks for your concern Michele
