| Tracy - did he have a name? I'll add him to the Silver Lining
Memorial list so his name will help to carry on work for other
animals.
Its all so very frustrating sometimes. Don't let it stop you
from helping other animals. Perhaps you can have a room that you
can use as an isolation room for any other strays you want to
treat.

| This is such a sad story. Another kitty to be remembered in the
Silver Lining Memorial... I hope it was nothing intentional...
Our sympathy to Sunny, and the others...

3177.4 | thanks.... | LEDS::TBROWN | | Tue Dec 26 1989 15:32 | 28 |
| The kitty who was killed had no name that I know of. I just wrote
about my kitties in the intro note - it's long. I don't have any
extra room for other cats, I already have 4 and would rather have 3.
Sunny is cat number 4 whom I put an adoption note (see 3165 or 66, I
forget). There are still 2 what I call homeless cats in my neighbor
hood. One is the last brother of the poor kitty who got killed
today, the other is a new addition. (Sunny lives in my house, the
cat who was killed was his brother, and there is another brother
running wild still).
The truely sickening part about all of this is that the people who
own (yes own) these cats just keep bringing kittens home and let
them run wild - no medical attention whatsoever. They have all
sorts of animals on their land, pigs, goats, ducks, geese, dogs,
cattle and sheep. They are poor ignorant people. I doubt the
man has any education outside of the legal quitting age. Yet he's
a 'good' neighbor in that he's helped me without my asking in the
past.
I've been helping these cats out for 4 years, I've taken in some, found
homes for others. My mother took a pregnant one a few years ago and
found homes for all but one kitten and kept momma.
Thanks so much for the kind words and caring. I really appreciate it.

3177.5 | So Sad.... | BRAT::JOSEPHSON | | Tue Dec 26 1989 16:25 | 16 |
| Tracey,
How awful!!! It's so hard when you care so much about animals to
have to deal with the jerks in the world that don't give a X#@!@
about anything at all.
I truly sympathize with you. You were good enough to show the kitty
some kindness he may never have had if it hadn't been for you.
So sad....I will also give my kitties many extra hugs tonight in
addition to their usual bunch.

What is the Silver Lining Memorial List. You had kindly added my
Aime's name to it and I just never asked about it.

| Tracey -
You are so good to be doing what you can! I really appreciate
your feelings. Sometimes it feels so overwhelming. I keep thinking
about the Weymouth Commons Kitties and I have to remind myself,
frequently, that we are doing all we can. There are limits and
I can't let myself get caught up in feeling guilty because I can't
do more. That will just get in the way of my helping in the future.
But my heart aches for these little guys. especially when I see
how loving the rescuees we have now are.
Nancy and anyone else who wants to know more about the Silver
Lining Memorial - check out note 2228.
Thanks

| It's so nice to know I'm not alone - that other people do care
about even one homeless dog or cat, that they care enough to do
something about it.
I have never met a cat that did not respond in time to love.
Of the cats I have now, 2 needed special attention to come out
of their shell and I am positive that I am the first person
that ever extended love to them and they have repayed me in
love and lots of laughs.
Love to you all,
Tracey
