    I throught this could never happen will here the story. Moxie the
    West Highland Terrier & one kitten 13 week old name Midnight & a
    four year old cat name Backie were playing and went down cellar with
    me I return up stair and no aminal all of sudden I hear Moxie bark
    the Kitten & Blackie had gotten him pin on a box and would not let
    him move so I had to go recues him from the faith of the two cats.
    The two of them just stay there and were not give in to his barking.
    The poor dog was at the mercy of these two. Up the stair the cats run
    first them Moxie. Has anyone experience straight behave from a dog $
    cat relationship? Don't know if it was some kind of game the were
    playing with each other.

3130.1...like cats and dogsTHRSHR::DINGEEThis isn't a rehearsal, you know.Thu Dec 28 1989 14:5817

    Hi, Nancy - I'd bet it was a game; years ago I had a kitten and a
    puppy at my parents house. The two of them used to chase each other
    from one end of the house to the other end. First you would see the
    cat chasing the dog, then they'd go by in the other direction, with
    the dog chasing the cat!! Neither one let the other touch him, but
    they did love to race and run!

    I'm assuming that neither one has fangs bared, back fur raised, or
    tails fluffed out - neither is taking an aggressive stance?

    I don't think "fighting like cats and dogs" is really an apt
    expression - my cats and dogs have always either enjoyed each others'
    company, or completely ignored each other!

3130.2Cats vs German Shepard, cats ahead by far!DECXPS::LCOBURNTue Jan 16 1990 12:4011

    I do not usually write in this conference but could not resist here...
    I have 2 indoor-outdoor cats (whichever they choose to be at the
    time, but housebroken enough that I do not have to have a litter
    box), and a German Shepard. This 80+ lbs dog, who is a superb watch
    dog and home-protector-type, loves to play with the cats. He plays
    with them, chasing them around the house and yard, gooseing them,
    gently pinning them under his paw. They seem to enjoy it to a point.
    But just one cross look from either of these cats sure can make
    that big ole' German Shepard cower!
