3130.1 | ...like cats and dogs | THRSHR::DINGEE | This isn't a rehearsal, you know. | Thu Dec 28 1989 14:58 | 17 |
Hi, Nancy - I'd bet it was a game; years ago I had a kitten and a puppy at my parents house. The two of them used to chase each other from one end of the house to the other end. First you would see the cat chasing the dog, then they'd go by in the other direction, with the dog chasing the cat!! Neither one let the other touch him, but they did love to race and run! I'm assuming that neither one has fangs bared, back fur raised, or tails fluffed out - neither is taking an aggressive stance? I don't think "fighting like cats and dogs" is really an apt expression - my cats and dogs have always either enjoyed each others' company, or completely ignored each other! -julie
3130.2 | Cats vs German Shepard, cats ahead by far! | DECXPS::LCOBURN | Tue Jan 16 1990 12:40 | 11
I do not usually write in this conference but could not resist here... I have 2 indoor-outdoor cats (whichever they choose to be at the time, but housebroken enough that I do not have to have a litter box), and a German Shepard. This 80+ lbs dog, who is a superb watch dog and home-protector-type, loves to play with the cats. He plays with them, chasing them around the house and yard, gooseing them, gently pinning them under his paw. They seem to enjoy it to a point. But just one cross look from either of these cats sure can make that big ole' German Shepard cower! |
