I have recently moved from Mass. to NH. My new roommate (the owner of the Condo) does not want a cat in the house. One of my old roommates told me about a week before I moved that she would take care of my cat. A few days after I left she had a change of heart and decided she did not want the responsibility (she is rather immature). I went back there yesterday to pick up a few things and I felt so bad for my cat. All the furniture in the house is gone (it was mine). And her food dish had food in it. I could tell from that that she'd probably not been eating well (she always finishes her moist food). I've moved a couple of other times and she gets depressed initially and it takes her a week or so to adjust. But now I think she feels abandoned by me, I can imagine, seeing the empty house and all. I wonder if she's getting any attention, short of food in her bowl. So what I am looking for is a warm caring home for her. I've had her for 6 years. She is a very bright cat, she likes to play, her favorite toy is the ring around a milk container, she'll play fetch with it (really). She takes very little upkeep. She is calico/brown in color, 8-10lbs I'd guess. Has a silky coat. She is declawed in the front and is fixed. She is not a lap cat, but she'll sit next to you. I think she would do well in a household with adults. I think she's probably to set in her ways to adjust to children and or other pets. I think she would make a great companion to an older person. She is definitely a house cat. So if you or someone you know is in a situation to offer Gissa a good home please contact me via mail XCUSME::KOSKI. Gail

It is so sad that you were forced to take a no pets situation. Are you sure you can't change your roomie's mind? If she's declawed she isn't going to damage furniture or rugs. She sounds very well behaved. Nancy DC

Unfortunately it's not that easy, it's an allergy issue...

My husband is allergic to cats and we have six. He just takes his medication. Of course, his allergy is pretty much controllable with medication (some cat allergies are too serious for that) and it's his choice to live with the cats. Good luck. Nancy DC

I received a call from my former roomie and she claims that a new roommate is moving in and that person is allergic to cats, bottom line is the cat must go, now. Sadly I have no place for her. I saw a mention in this file of the Framingham Humane Soc. The complaining roomie works in Framingham, maybe she can bring her there. Can someone please provide directions and or a phone number. Will there be a fee involved? Thank you for your help, Gail |
