3018.0. "Lonely kitten needs warm home...QUICK!" by TLE::MACDONALD (I'm thinking of one...) Tue Nov 07 1989 13:52

    My friend found 4 abandonned kittens about a month ago. One has
    already been killed by a car, she took two of them (to ad to her 2
    she already has) and there's one, lonely kitty left.

    It's about 8 wks old, grey tabby female. We're hoping that some kind
    soul will adopt her before the *real* winter weather sets in. She's
    real lonesome without her siblings and cold in an unheated barn.
    Please contact me and I'll put you in touch with my friend in
    Manchester, NH. I can't take her, since I've already got 3 cats and a
    dog!

3018.1Doesn't make sense to me.....ASABET::FELDMANTue Nov 07 1989 16:066
    How could she take TWO and leave the third by itself? I could
    understand taking one and trying to place the other two together,
    but I feel awfully bad for that third kitten. There's no way she
    can take her, too? If not, I think bringing her to a shelter
    (she's so young, she's likely to get picked up pretty fast) is a
    much better idea than leaving her alone in a cold barn.......

    An 8 week old kitten shouldn't be left alone in a cold barn! Please
    encourage your friend to at least give it temporary shelter until
    a permanent home can be found. It is probably very scared and confused
    and misses its littermates.

    I too cannot believe that she just left it there. Can't she just
    take it in and care for it until she can get it to a shelter or
    place it. She already took too so what's one more for a short period
    of time.

3018.5Kitty will be warm this winter!TLE::MACDONALDI'm thinking of one...Wed Nov 08 1989 12:0916
    I've found the baby a home! Thanks to all for your concern. :-)

    BTW: It's easy to say "how could she leave the last one?". But it's
    still *another* cat. She already had two full grown, took one over a
    week ago, started feeling bad and took another the other day...and
    probably would have started feeling bad and taken the last one fairly
    soon. Two cats, two wild kittens, and two twin 4-yr old boys are a
    handful. I think she's done more than she even had to. Anyway, we
    knew that, between four adults, we would find a home in a matter of
    days. She's trying to catch mom cat and somehow get her spayed.
    Apparently, mom-cat makes a habit of this...leaving kittens and running
    off until she has to come back to give birth again. Unfortunately,
    this is not uncommon.
