"Tony the Tiger" needs a home! I have a long-haired grey tiger cat named Tony who needs a home.... Tony is a neutered male, 3 years old on Halloween, declawed front and back. Tony lived with me for a year until I moved and couldn't take him with me. My sister and her family adopted Tony. After 2 years of my brother-in-law suffering terribly with broncitis (sp?) and my niece suffering with asthma - both directly related to the cat, they decided it just wasn't sensible to keep the cat and suffer any longer. Tony has never been with other cats so I'm not sure how he would be if put in that type of situation... He's a VERY lovable cat, excellent with children (my nieces are 7 and 5 years old) and would also make a great companion for an elderly person. Obviously Tony is an indoor cat without having claws for protection... If you are looking for a cat like Tony, of know of anyone who is, PLEASE help me find a good home for him! I can be reached on NETMAN::LAGOY or DTN 226-5768. Peggy

Well, I'm happy to say that Tony has a new home. My sister was getting desperate. She didn't want to give the cat to a shelter, cuz we all know what happens if they can't place the animal in a given period of time... And she didn't know of anyone who wanted to adopt him... So she called the Humane Society. They suggested she put an ad in the newspaper and ASK FOR MONEY for the cat. If you ask for money, you're not going to get someone who will take the cat, and if it doesn't work out, just put the cat out... Sure enough, the first day the ad was in the paper, she got two calls. The new owners are a couple in their 60's who used to have cats all their lives but when they moved into the elderly housing development, they couldn't have one. Now the development is allowing pets and they were looking for a cat just like Tony! The woman came and "interviewed" with Tony and fell in love with him right away. She paid the fee (which was only $10) and took Tony home. The woman calls periodically and lets my sister know how Tony is doing. They really love him and it looks like Tony really love his new home, too.... I just love happy endings! | |||||

That IS a great story. I'm so glad that folks are beginning to understand just how important pets are in peoples' lives - especially to the elderly. I hope we I"m in that age bracket allowing pets will be the rule and not the exception. Nancy DC |
