2913.0. "4 free kittens!!" by MEMORY::LODI () Wed Oct 04 1989 18:00

    My Cat had 4 kittens. 3 are males and 1 is a female. They were born
    Sept 11, 1989, right now they are starting to get courious enough to
    rome around the house however, they still depend on mom for the food
    supply. I expect these kittens to be weened and housebroken by
    the last week in October. I would like to have them all taken by
    then. If anyone is interested in FREE kittens pls contact me at
    dtn 237-3163 or threw the e-net on memory::lodi

    The sooner I get these kittens away from their mom, the sooner
    I can get her spaided. She's a very affectionate cat and it's
    her first litter. These kittens are playful and funny to watch,
    I will miss them however, I need some SLEEP!

    I can offer some applications for low cost spaying to go with your
    little guys if that would help. Also for you to use to get mommy
    spayed.  Send me your mailstop.

2913.2Kittens need 8 weeks with MomPRAGUE::NEWTONThu Oct 05 1989 11:133
The guidelines I've seen say that kittens should stay with the mother at least
eight weeks. Eight weeks from September 11 is November 6, so the last week of
October is a bit early to send the kittens on their way to new homes.
2913.3six weeks is too soon!!!COGITO::SPINNEYThe truth will make you fleeThu Oct 05 1989 13:215
    I second that!!! six weeks is too soon to let them leave their Mom;
    I believe a vet would confirm this...

    I can help to confirm it too. I am a breeder, and I keep my kittens
    until they are 16 weeks old. At that age, they are mature enough
    to handle the transition to a new home.
