Haven't heard of that...but if it keeps skeeters away
I guess it would be worth a shot!!
If nothing else, kitty will have soft silky skin!!

| I also read Canines and have read about Skin-so-Soft for dogs but
nothing so far about it being ok for cats. for Dogs you mix 1 part
skin-so-soft to 8 parts water. Yes, Avon does know. I just bought
some and when I received my order, there was a list of 20 different
ways you could use it other than the original way, as a skin softener.
Would love to know if it is safe for kitties too.

If you replace SSS w/ regualar baby oil, you'll get the same results
without the scent (and less cost).

| Hi Frannie!
We use SSS on our dogs. It doesn't leave a soapy oily film. What we
do is mix it 50/50 and use a spray bottle to dispense it. We also use
the same mixture on the kids as it's safer than DEET. I never
considered using it on the cats maybe when we finally put down this
years flea invasion we'll try it.

| Other uses. :-)x1,000,000 When buster doggie comes in outa the rain
it does wonders to purge that yucky wet dog smell.
My wife draped rags over our rabbit condo soaked with SSS keeps the
skeeters and deerflies away from the rabbits.
Spray around outside doorways will keep down on the numbers of
skeeters attracted to the doorway.
Heck why not spray some on the kitty litter that's not soiled too
badly.

2872.8 | SSS and Dawn are deadly to fleas | GYPSY::BELFORTI | | Tue Sep 19 1989 18:05 | 5 |
| After using the SSS, let it sit for a while, then give the cats
a bath in diluted DAWN dishwashing detergent. the fleas will just
fall off!
It worked for the dog too!

2872.9 | Opppssss, add to last note | GYPSY::BELFORTI | | Tue Sep 19 1989 18:08 | 3 |
| PS: don't let the cat lick too much of the SSS, you could end up
with a case of the trots..... the Dawn will cut right through the
SSS oil, plus get whatever fleas the SSS misses!

For a cat...how much do you spray on? *Does* it leave an oily film on
thier coat? How about them licking it off? Wouldn't that be bad??
If this really works - hurray!!

| I am really paranoid of my cats ingesting anything they shouldn't
so I wouldn't leave it on. I'd bathe the cats in it and then use
DAWN (which I use on Dundee for his shows) and rinse thoroughly
as suggested in a previous note.

| Late entry:
SSS - I have sprayed a 1/10 part solution on a face cloth and LIGHTLY
wipe the kitties down. They don't really lick it off. I later brush
them and their fur is easy to get through (Escho has gray pantaloons
the hold burrs, seeds, weeds, you name it).
I also used to use it on the dog and still use it on my horse. Once
when the gang went camping with the critters in mid- March, we
experienced a sudden warm front. It got humid and the poor ponies
still had part of their winter coats on. All night long all you heard
was STAMP, STAMP, SWISH,STAMP, SNORT. By the morning they'd be eaten
alive and a sense of humor was in short supply. No one had thought to
bring fly spray because it was so early in the season and it was still
frosty when we left. Luckily Collette had some SSS and I had a
sprayer. We sprayed everyone down inluding ourselves and went out for
4 hours. It was great, no flies on anyone. We mixed it 1 to 4 parts
water. In the summer or during heavy fly season, it's a 50/50 mix.
The stuff is WONDERFUL!!! No black flies up the nose or in the eyes.
