2828.1 | Try local animal shelters... | CGVAX2::JOHNSON_S | | Wed Sep 06 1989 12:02 | 9 |
| If you haven't already; contact the Police depts local to you & all
the vets & Humane Societies. I found these places to be incredibly
helpful when my Kitty was missing. My poor Kitty was trapped in our
boat for 2 days. You might also check neighbors sheds, etc.
Good Luck- I know what it's like!
I hope you get as lucky

thanks for the suggestion... I called the Weare police and
unfortunately they don't keep track of strays, or pick them up.
There also isn't a dog officer in town...
I am going to run an add in the Concord Monitor.. I also called the
Goffstown Animal Shelter, and they put up a description of him on their
bulletin board...
thanks again...

Kathy,
You might also post notices in the neighborhood and any stores that
may be around. Someone may have taken him in thinking he was a stray
or abandoned. Check with neighbors and kids in the area.
Good luck!

| I second the suggestions to talk to your neighbors, and especially
to ask them to check any place he may have gotten accidentally
shut in like garages, basements, etc. please let us know how
things are going. Our thoughts are with you.

| Talk to the kids too, they know everything that goes on! It was
children who were directly responsible for me getting my Kathryn
back years ago when she got out on me.

| You might also offer a reward - say $25.

2828.7 | contact all the local vets too | FIVE5::BREDA | | Fri Sep 08 1989 14:21 | 10 |
| Another suggestion:
Don't forget to contact all the Vets in the area. I would also
make a point of bringing a poster describing your cat to each of
the vets. Most vets I've been to have bulletin boards and are very
happy to help out.
Best of Luck!

Hi,
thanks for all the suggestions... so far, he isn't back... we live
in a very wooded area of Weare.. our closest neighbor boards horses,
we've checked around their barn, but haven't seen him...
I've called both the Concord, and Goffstown animal shelters, and
they are going to keep an eye out for a black and white cat...
This is the frustrating part about living in a small town.. there
isn't really anyone that you can go to.... I called my vet, but will
look up in the phone book to see what other vets are in the area...
thanks again for the suggestions, and support...

2828.9 | we saw a black and white cat.... | WOODRO::IVES | | Mon Sep 11 1989 17:54 | 15 |
| I hope this is not your cat...... On route (93 I think) just before
the turn off to Portsmouth/Seacoast area 101 we saw a cat laying
on the side of the road that someone had hit. We were traveling
north and had passed the building where the boy scouts have have
their head quarters and it was no too far after that. Husband was
driving and of course he wouldn't stop. Unfortnately we saw two
more all black cats before we reached our turn off on route 101.
Bad day for kitties and wild life.
The only reason I put this in here is you mentioned Goffstown and
I believe that would be the area.
Please keep us posted.
