2827.0. "WANTED: Apt allowing 2 cats" by TOOK::D_LANE (We're on a road to nowhere) Wed Sep 06 1989 10:47

    I'm still to find a 4 room apt, preferably in a 2-family house,
    in the Leominster area. My first choice towns would be Leominster,
    Lancaster, Sterling or Shirley, but I'm willing to consider anything
    between Leominster and Littleton. I can only afford to spend $525,
    including heat and hot water. Also, I have 2 spayed indoor female
    cats. Please let me know if you have/know of anything available. I
    need find someplace by Oct 1, 1989.

    Thanks,

    Debbi, (Jasmine and Speck)

    there is at least one note that lists pets-allowed apartments in
    this file. try dir/title=apartment, or maybe someone remembers
    which note it is.

    The note that Nancy is referring to is #1435. It lists several
    apartments and houses that allow cats.

    Good luck .......

    Well, I checked out note #1435, unfortunately there is only one listed
    since the beginning of this year. I have extended where I am until
    November 1st, since everyone seems to be saying "NO PETS!". I've been
    calling aparments even if they say no pets, just in case, but have had
    no luck. So, if anyone hears of anyplace between Leominster and
    Littleton, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Keep calling those places that say NO PETS. I found that a fair
    percentage, at least in the Quincy area, would allow indoor cats.
    I had more trouble with the waterbed! :-)
      Good luck

    You might try offering an extra deposit, or a letter of reference from
    your current landlord about the pets.

2827.6try looking for a house/condoFRAGLE::PELUSOMon Sep 18 1989 17:417
    I found most people who are looking for a roomate for a house/condo
    which they own, or a two family type sitation would allow some pets,
    mainly a cat or two or small dog. Larger building landlords won't
    usually allow animals of any kind because the place usually turns into
    a dump because people don't care what their animals would do.

2827.7WANTED: Apt for pets...and me!TOOK::D_LANEWe're on a road to nowhereWed Sep 27 1989 12:5911
    Well, I've extended at my current apartment until the end of October,
    but I definately have to be out by then with the no pets rule. So,
    if anyone has heard of any apt's between Leominster and Littleton
    (preferably in a two family) that would allow 2 spayed female cats
    please let me know. I'm starting to get desperate, I've been looking
    for a couple of months and can't find anything in my price range that
    will allow animals.

    Thanks!

    Debbi,

    Have you tried advertising for an apt. in those areas that would allow
    you to keep your two, spayed, "well behaved" indoor cats? I found when
    I had finally been discouraged by the "No Pets" response, I had my own
    ad published in a couple of newspapers in the area I wanted to move in
    and that's when I received a reply. I had an indoor cat and 2 dogs at
    the time. Also, I did mention the fact that there were two quiet, non-
    smoking adults who owned the quiet, well trained cat and dogs. :-)

    Good luck!

2827.9They're thereCSG001::PRIESTLEYFri Sep 29 1989 17:2314
    I just found an apartment which allows my cats by going out to the
    area that I wanted to live in, picking up their local paper, and
    calling every ad that didn't say NO PETS. This was in Southbridge,
    so I can't give you any places to go, but I found eight apartments
    that I could afford that would take my cats--and I even liked 3
    of them!

    I think I called 30 or so different people to get 8 places, but
    I only started looking 5 days ago and I've already committed to
    one.

    Keep trying--they're out there!

    Glad to hear some positive news Michelle. I'm still trying, going to
    different towns and picking up papers. This week should be a good week
    since it's after the first of the month. I've found a few places that
    will allow pets and are in my price range. They've been to small, to
    dumpy, or in a bad section of town. So, I'm still looking, something
    is bound to come up soon!

    Thanks,
