| You have all my sympathies. Please draw some consolation
from the fact that the two of them had been extremely lucky
to be with you who so lovingly took care of them. Their life
was short but the love which you and the two of your kitties
shared was very special and will always be a heartwarming
memory to you when time has healed the great pain of loss
which you feel right now.

| I cannot thank you enough, my "feline family", for all of the support
you have given me in the last few weeks. I have just returned from
a vacation in Massachusetts visiting with my family. For the past
week I have been surrounded by the people that love me and understand
me and was given the opportunity to just "let go" and be comforted.
I believe that there is a reason and a purpose for everything that
happens to us, however painful. I never could understand while
growing up how people could become so attached and almost fanatical
about cats. We always had dogs. They were smarter. They were more
affectionate.
And then came my babies. Zach and Chloe became my world. They
taught me responsibility, they brought me love. At times when it
gets tough and I feel so sorry for myself, I ask "why me?". I now
know the answer. We were meant to be together on this earth, no
matter how short a period of time.
Zach and Chloe gave to me more in one year of their brief existence
than some people receive in a lifetime. They are in my heart, and
in my soul. They will always be a part of me.

| Ah yes - I grew up with dogs too. My mother had me convinced that
cats were 'sneaky' and unaffectionate and aloof. (She's changed
her mind too, BTW).
My first, Kathryn, taught me differently too. And she died too
soon also. But she gave me a tremendous gift when she taught me
to love and understand cats. (well, as much as anyone understands
the feline mind)
I hope that sometime soon, you'll give a loving home to some new
FFM's (Feline Family members). Chloe and Zack will always be alive
as long as you care about cats.
