I've been calling around, comparing bulk prices for Science Diet and came across an outlet that sells something called Eagle brand. The lady I talked to claims that is comparable to Science diet, is less expensive and more palatable. Presently it comes dry only. I forgot to ask if they had a special formula for kittens. Has anyone else heard of this brand? If so, what are the pros and cons in comparison to Science Diet? Carol

Carol - I've never heard of Eagle brand but have used Purino Pro Plan, which is comparable to Science Diet. It's also a little cheaper and the cats seemed to like it. However, two of my cats are VERY fat, so now I'm feeding them Science Diet Lite. When I read the levels of ash, magnesium, and potassium to my vet on the Pro Plan, the vet approved. Maybe you should consult your vet on the Eagle brand. If he's never heard of it, read him the mineral levels, etc and see what he says. Mary |
