    Folks - 
      I need a feel for how many can't make it the first weekend of
    September.  I know someone said they can't make it the 12th (I think
    that was via mail) and Paula can't make it the 26th.  So far I don't
    think anyone has said they can't make it Sept 2 or 3.

    Hi Nancy!
    
    I'd like to go if I can fit it in - Sept is the only possibility
    as I'll be in Peru from Aug 11-27, hiking to Machu Picchu!  I also
    have plans for Labor Day weekend, so...I'll have to play it by ear.
    Hope I canmake it there.
    
    On a good note, I found a friend who will cat-sit Jake and Munchie
    for the 2 1/2 weeks I'm down there! So I don't have to aggravate them
    (and myself) putting them in a kennel....and I don't have to aggravate
    my roommate by having some stranger come into our house!!

    Glad to hear about the cat sitter.  I'm sure Jack & Munchie will
    be happier to stay at home.  You know, if you take lots of pictures
    we may have to have one cookout on Aug 12th and another one around
    Sept 10th or so to see pictures of your trip to Peru!

    Nancy, yes, try to have a cookout earlier and I'll see what we can
    do about attending.  Maybe when you're not looking, I'll be able
    to sneak out the door with Dundee in my purse!

    If the cookout is September 2 or 3rd, it's possible that Bruce and I
    can make it.  (Depends on my second job.)  We will be on vacation (?)
    with his 4 kids from August 10 - 23 and I KNOW that I will have to
    work my other job the weekend that I get back.

    Well after consideration of folks schedules and our work-on-the-
    house schedule it looks like the date is going to be Sept 2 or 3.
    Sept 3rd would be best for me but I'm open to persuasion.  Roberta
    I'm sorry that this is ending up the weekend of your Wedding.  If
    you thought you could drop by on the 2nd I'd happily change, but
    I suspect you'll have you mind on other things  :-)  We'll just
    have to have a feliner's christmas party later in the year.  
    
    In case of bad weather I'll plan on having the cookout the following
    weekend.
    
    So this is what I need from folks:
    
    Let me know who's coming and what you will be bringing.  I'll buy
    some hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken.  If anyone is vegetarian and
    has a suggestion let me know and I'll happily provide.  Being a
    "no red meat" eater I know what its like.  
    
    We have one charcoal grill but its no where near big enough to cook
    for a large group.  If anyone has a grill they could bring along
    that would be great, otherwise I'll try the neighbors.
    
    We'll also need some extra chairs.  I have a large folding table
    and a card table so I think that'll be enough.  Holly..i still need
    my chairs back :-)
    
    This is great!  Now if I can just get the deck finished.
    Oh - send me your phone numbers in case there are any last minute
    changes.

    Since Braintree is a bit of a hike for many folks, perhaps
    you could carpool.  That would give the driver some company
    and let some other folks enjoy the ride.

    Update - I'd like to ask folks to be at my place around
    11:00.  We'll start the grills around noon and hopefully
    get to eat around 12:30-1:00.  Does that sound ok to
    everyone?

    I know several people have said they're going to come to the cookout
    but so far I only have three definites with their food contributions.
    The cookout is one week from Sunday so anyone who hasn't committed
    please send me mail.   I'll be sending out directions soon.  If
    the turnout is going to be small I may just get chicken and forget
    the hotdogs and hamburgers.  If that's a problem for anyone let
    me know.  I also need to determine if I'll need another grill.
      Also if anyone is vegetarian, let me know so we can work out 
    some food for you.  I don't eat red meat so I'm very sympathetic
    to dietary restrictions.

    I think maybe you didn't get my response to the Cookout menu requests.
    I'll definitely be comingand would  like to either bring another
    potato salad or perhaps the maklings of a nice salad.  Whatever
    you need the most.
    
    Is anybody coming from out my way, or even Marlboro way?  Please
    get the directions out soon, as I like to make trial runs to unfamiliar
    locations on the weekends - and that means THIS WEEKEND.

Well??  Would anyone that made the cookout like to tell those of us
who didn't how it was?

    The cookout was really nice.  Nancy has some great cats!  We saw tons
    of pictures and pigged out on tons of food.  There were not too many
    people, but that meant that we got to know each other better.
    
    Dundee is cuter than any pictures I've seen of Scottish Folds. 
    Definately a breed to see in person.  Bumpy and Mao were extremely
    friendly, stealing our hearts with their antics, and Isis was into
    Zen or something -- staring out at the lawn in a meditative pose.
    
    Hopefully it won't be too long before the next one...

    They are quite the bunch.  Too bad Dundee is so timid with
    strangers still.  Maybe the show season will cure him.
    
    I finally got in touch with Meg Lambert, the entry clerk for
    the Braintree show.  IS anyone else going?  Anyway, she said
    "You have a Scottish Fold, right?  We may sic the reporters
    on you because they're looking for someone from Braintree" !!
    maybe I shouldn't say anything too soon but I'm real excited.
    I also figure if I can I'll work in something about neutering
    pets!  This would be a good opportunity.
