2667.0. "Another sad tale -- beautiful stray needs home" by TLE::BENTLEY () Tue Jul 11 1989 15:03

    My daughter came home with a stray cat a couple of days ago. We
    already have two cats and a dog and my husband will divorce me if I let
    her keep it (plus she's off to college come fall). We would love to
    find a home for it rather than take it to the humane society where they
    will do unspeakable things to it.

    The cat is about 8 months to a year old, orange fur with green eyes, and
    long haired (a gorgeous tail goes with this animal). I "think" it's a
    male but I'm having a hard time determining this as his hair is long
    and a bit matted. He's extremely affectionate and purrs constantly.
    Please, someone, give this cat a home. I've given my daughter (and
    myself) a week to find a home for this beautiful cat. We live in
    Nashua, NH.

2667.1Local Papers?...CSA5::JOHNSON_STue Jul 11 1989 20:329
    Have you been reading the local papers for missing cats. That 1
    sounds familiar. Maybe in the Merrimack area- possibly Amherst
    Rd. I'm not sure, but I remember reading in the Village Crier or
    the Broadcaster about a missing orange cat.

    Where did your daughter find him/her?

    That would make for 1 happy ending if you could find the original
    home.  I think?!
2667.2Found in Mason, NHTLE::BENTLEYWed Jul 12 1989 15:194
    I'll check the Broadcaster tonight. The cat was found in Mason -- near
    the Pickety Place area. This cat is so affectionate and loving it's
    going to be hard to let it go, but go it must if I want my husband to
    be loving and affectionate!!!

    You know, eight years ago, my husband went to Florida to visit his
    mother. While he was gone I *sort of* acquired this adorable fluffy
    white kitten with a grey streak on her head. He called from the
    airport to tell me which flight he was on and I told him there was
    an addition to the family. I also told him it definitely stays. I
    *negleted* to tell him what it was.

    Well------------ when he walked through the door, this tiny adorable
    little kitten was just sitting there (waiting to be picked up). She
    looked up at him and gave one of her silent meows. He melted......

    He still loves Lightning dearly.

2667.4Kitty Has Gone to a Loving HomeTLE::BENTLEYThu Jul 27 1989 09:5810
    The kitty has gone to a loving home. Thanks to everyone who inquired
    and who offered assistance. It's wonderful to know there are so many
    caring people.

    When my husband finally discovered the cat in the house, every evening
    he would say "Is the cat gone yet?" And yet, more than once we heard
    him mumbling "That is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever
    seen."! He's a softy in a crusty kind of way. :-)

    I'm so glad you found a home. You know, these guys sound like
    Jack too. He'd tell me we HAD to find a home for Tymothee and
    then the next minute he'd be taking Tym out on the leash or
    something.
      Silly males.
