| I know what you're going through, my family had to make a similar
decision twice within a month for Jesse and Momma Kitty. Our thoughts
are with you in this time.

go out to both you and Julie in this time of sorrow.
It's easy to acquire our beloved pets, so much more difficult to
let go...

| John,
As hard as it seems, you are doing the right thing by Bitch-Mew.
I have had to do it three times in as many months, and I know what
you are going through.

| Thanks for your thoughtt. We know what we're doing is right, but it
sure doesn't make it any easier. We are comforted by an old saying that
goes:
"For every door that God closes, he opens another."
When the time is right, we'll be making a new home for another
unfortunate...

| Well, here's another wet-eyed person writing to this. I know how
awful you feel, these things can sneak up on us pretty fast. I lost
3 of my little friends last year to the same thing.
Sounds like she had a terrific life with all you did you raise her.
She will love you always.

I know how you feel. About seven mouth ago I lost my Smokey Bear who
would have been 11 yrs old this mouth. He was very special because
some time he act like he was human. I had him seen he was a kitten
and the lost is great because he felt more like family the a cat.

| I'm so sorry John. At times like this I wish I had a door to
close. Sometimes its hard to make folks understand why you're
crying.
I'd like to add Bitch-Mew to the Silver Lining Memorial for Q4.
Do you want me to use her full name?
I also added Smokey Bear's name to the list.
What a big list we have this time :-(

John,
Sorry to hear about Bitch-Mew. I cry whenever this sort of thing
happens, even on TV. A human can die in a movie and I'll be dry-eyed,
but let an animal be hurt and the tears just won't stop.
My thoughts are with you.
Faith
P.S. It is nice that this note file is here to share the feelings
with instead of hiding them.

| My big boy Smokey Joe and I send our prayers. I always fear that
things like that will happen to him. So far the worst he's had
was tape worms a few years ago.
Something happened to me a few years ago that I can't seem to forget.
I had to have my 17-year-old canine friend, Lassie, euthanized.
This nagged at me for years. Then one night she came to me in a
dream and told me that because I had it done out of love, it didn't
hurt a bit, and she thanked me for it.
I also lost my mother last year, and a couple of months ago she
came to me in a dream, and told me that death wasn't at all painful,
and that she was fine and didn't want anybody to worry about her.
Now, I don't know whether my mind conjured these dreams up, or if
my two loves were able to break the barrier between there and here.
I just know that both dreams left me feeling much better, and I
will never forget them. I hope that in some small way, this might
help you, too.
Sorry in Atlanta, Sharon

| re: .13 That is a very comforting note - which brought tears to
my eyes again. We used to have a dog named Lassie who we put
to sleep 1 month short of her 16th birthday. at the time I
was living in an apartment with Bumpy & Mao and I came over
two days before she was scheduled to be put to sleep so I could
say good-bye. I felt that she had a right to know what was
happening to her so I told her. she looked me straight in the
eye and I KNOW she understood and that it was alright. The night
my parents took her to the vet, my mother said she just walked off
with the receptionist and never looked back. She always HATED the
vet and fought you going into the examining room.
She Knew and was ready.
I think animals understand when their time comes, and accept it.
John - Mew has lots of good company where she is now and no pain.
Someday, perhaps you'll see her again.

John,
I am sooooooooooooo sorry about your baby!! Please, find a new baby
soon you will be amazed how quickly a loving new furface will fill the
gap. The new baby will never replace what you had with Bitch-Mew, but
I guarentee it will make you smile a lot sooner!
My most heart felt sympathies for you and your family!

John,
I really feel badly for you and your family over the loss of "The
Mew". Unfortunately, I can really understand your grief, as I lost
a special little cat-friend, Abbey, Monday evening (see note 2598).
It's very hard and very sad, isn't it..... Let's hope Abbey and
The Mew are in paradise, with no dogs, free fish for lunch, fields
of catnip blowing in the wind, no fleas, and lots of love!
Take care,
Lynn

| Re .17
Ahhh...but you didn't KNOW "The Mew". She was such a little
"Love-bug" and without a Mommy when we found her, so our 75 pound
German Shepherd/Doberman girl dog became her "surrogate mother" "The
Mew" would feel deprived if she dien't have her dogs around. But she'll
be in good company with your Abbey and our four dogs that have gone
before her. I'm sure she's happy now, but we are still empty without
her.
I MAY be adopting the FELV Positive kitten that's in another note...
NOT to "replace" The Mew, but to help alleviate the pain abit and get a
nice home for this poor little waif...
