2587.0. "STRAY/ABANDONED FELINE, MILFORD, NH AREA" by STEREO::DENELL (Elinda Denell - 264-4396) Mon Jun 19 1989 16:24

    I have found an abandoned female tabby (gray/creme colored),
    approximately 1 1/2 years old at a Milford, NH condominium site.
     She is presently wandering around the quarry area begging for food
    and affection. I personally, am unable to take another kitty at
    this time. For the time being, she is being fed by myself and 3
    other neighbors.

    If you are interested or know of someone that is, please contact
    me by phone (dtn: 264-4396) no later than Thursday, 6/22.

    This quarry condominium site does not allow (against the association's
    rules and regulations) stray felines. Therefore, if she has not
    found a home by this weekend, we plan to take her to the animal
    shelter. We would all rather she have a nice cozy loveable home,
    but at least at the shelter she will be cared for.

    Please give me a call as soon as possible if you are interested.

    She is truly adorable and so affectionate. It kinda breaks one's
    heart to see her abandoned, hungry and no "home".

    Thanks for whatever you can do to help.

    Try to find a no-kill shelter. Its rough right now as they're
    full of kittens.
      Good Luck.

2587.2Punishment in kind would be greatEDUHCI::SHERMANBarnacle 1Tue Jun 20 1989 14:2214

    I am firmly for state law that punishes offenders "in kind." Not
    too long ago the news ran an item about some scumbag that abandoned
    a puppy at the town dump (NH?) in the winter. Some guy dropping-off
    trash there spotted the poor thing. It had burrowed into the snow
    to try and get out of the killing wind, and was almost dead. Well,
    somehow the abandoner was located and brought to trial. The judge
    gave the offender a choice: $100 fine or two nights at the same
    dump. The offender chose the dump ... until half-way through the
    first night. He "couldn't take it" (I wonder if he made the conncetion
    with wnat he'd done to the puppy) and thus paid the fine.

    I think that has to be the best story I have heard in a long time.

    Lets hope he doesn't try something like that again.

    Ya - lets have some more "creative" justice like that!
