2575.1 | I want my M-Tv | CRUISE::NDC | Take my cat...PLEASE | Thu Jun 15 1989 08:30 | 12 |
| When we had the type of cable box with the buttons on the top, I
would frequently find the "girls" (this was BD - before Dundee)
watching M-TV or some silly game show or worse, 20 minute workout!
(Oh Gawd - my cats aren't even feminists)
I also have a picture of Bumpy hanging over the top of a TV
watching "Lady Bug", a pac-man type ColecoVision game. She
used to love to watch that little bug with the wiggling antennas
run around the maze!
Dundee occasionally sits and watches TV with us, but not that
often.

| Schnitzel always jumps in my lap whenever I'm on my system at home.
Occasionally she even tries to write something....but after awhile she
curls up and goes to sleep. She also watches TV with me at night if
it's a show she likes, otherwise she curls up and goes into dreamland.

Re .1 - Nancy,
We have a Nintendo system, and it sometimes gets difficult to
play when you have two helpful little cats trying to get the
critters on the screen - it's really funny, though :^}
I think that cats get attracted primarily by movement. Andy
used to have a Siamese that would try to chase the cursor on
the terminal screen.

2575.4 | computer table potato... | DRFIX::IVES | I'm my own Persian | Thu Jun 15 1989 11:38 | 21 |
| I have a DECmate III plus at home and when I get on the system
and Mocha hears it booting up he comes running, and it's like
"Oh boy,, Moms going to play and me too.!!"
He tries to lay on the keyboard and usually at least once is
successful. He will lay on the table after all his other attemps
to lay on the keyboard are unseccessful and watches my fingers on
the keys and the cursor go back and forth like he is watching a
tennis match. Ming lays on one of the twin beds just content to
be comfortable and watch.
Now when I log out, it's as if I had taken his food dish away.
Mocha will continue to lay on the table for at least an hour
after everything is shut down and the lights turned off. I try
to love him and play with him but he wants nothing to do with
that.
Aren't these fur faces funny? We spend all kinds of money on
toys and they pick their own entertainment.

2575.5 | Baseball is Barney's Game | MICLUS::MTAG | | Thu Jun 15 1989 11:44 | 11 |
| When Barney was a young cat, he liked to watch baseball on TV. Forget
about other sports like football or basketball, baseball was his game.
He would sit on top of the TV and stretch his paws down trying to catch
the players running around the field. Or he would sit in front and
stare at the tube.
Recently, Ben has also started watching TV. I forget what show he
likes, but it's on weekend mornings and the people's voice on the show
are soothing. Change the channel, and he stops paying attention.

You are right Barbara!! We got all kinds of fancy toys (which can get to
be expensive) and now we found out that my old, stretched out pony tail is
more fun than anything else. Tati will grab the pony tail in her mouth,
carry it everywhere in the house, and then wrestle with it for a long time.
She also likes pen and pencils. Cats can be "cheap" to be have after all.

| These replies reminded me of an incident many years ago that still
makes me laugh when I think about it. -:) We used to have a brother/
sister pair of Siamese, Boopa and Sister(she was named Fa Ying,
but the name never stuck) Sister never really cared about TV, but
Boopa occasionally would watch. One day during a long past
presidential campaign, Hubert Humphery was giving one of his patented
long-winded speeches and Boopa sat right in front of the tube and
watched very intently for several minutes and then reached up with
his paw and stuck it right in HHH's mounth! Wife and happened to
see it and nearly fell on the floor laughing. Boopa looked at us
then sauntered away as if to say: "Well, that took care of him."

2575.8 | Nintendo cat | CIMNET::PRIESTLEY | | Fri Jun 16 1989 13:21 | 8 |
| Cloudy is a TV cat too! He'll stare at the set even when it isn't on,
which I think is adorable. He's also a fraidy cat though, and when he's
in hiding, a sure fire way to get him to come out is to turn on the
Nintendo and lie down on the bed and play. It usually takes about 10
seconds and Cloudy is on the end of the bed purring and watching the
game!

| When Niniane was a kitten, she had a great fondness
for Olympic hockey. She would watch the puck and
the people go back and forth for nearly the whole
game, sometimes jumping up on top of the TV and
peering over the back to see where they all came
from!
I never enjoyed hockey so much in my life!

2575.10 | Lil loves TV | CUPMK::TRACHMAN | ExoticSH=Persian in Underwear | Mon Jun 19 1989 18:16 | 6 |
| My baby exotic Lil loves to sit on the edge, and I mean edge, of
the desk and watch TV - she will sit there for 20 or 30 minutes
and not move! She isn't fussy about what's on - but, then who
said Exotics come with brains (as long as they are CUTE !)
