| This may sound funny, but...
yes, I find bonding among breeds - my two siamese hang together
maybe because the 10-year old raised the 8-year old. My all
black boy Alexander (WeeZoo) also hangs with the two siamese
girls - WeeZoo had a Seal Point Siamese mother.
I think that part of the reason the girls hang together also is
that fact that they were the first two "in" (the oldest in the
house).
I also find bonding among the tabby variety. My classic tabbys
seem to prefer each other -
Many times I will look around and see 3 calico kids in a pack
getting into mischief.
I think that if you get a siamese kitten, it could work - but it's
sure not a certainty.
Each kitty is different - what works for one group can be very
different for another group of cats. Not sure if all of the above
helped at all...

Thank you
I do see bonding in the gang despite that they are very close together
in age and were raised together, the three tabbies hang out together,
and my male, Moses, is a mix and gets along with everybody. But
Misha is the outcast, and it breaks my heart to see her like that.
But I am trying to figure out..does she like being alone or am
I projecting my own way of thinking in that I figure Gee, she
"couldn't possibly" like being alone..but maybe she does..
heavens..I am so confused...

| One article I read not too long ago mentioned that cats are more
likely to accept cats that resemble them. That could be why our
Sammie (a tuxedo cat) is most tolerant of Blackie (guess her coloring
;-)). And that could be why the tabbies hang out together, and
the calicos, and so on.
Maybe another Siamese of the same pattern would be just right for
you.
Good luck,
Jill

| Well no wonder I'm having trouble getting things settled at home,
I have 1 blue-cream, 1 brown tabby w/white and the new girl has
blue tuxedo markings.
Maybe I could make them all tabby suits or something. ;^)

| re: .3 - Now that doesn't make sense. Isis HATES Tymothee and
Isis is all black and Tymothee is mostly black - He certainly
looks more like her than any of the rest of them. On the other
hand, Isis raised Dundee who is a Brown tabby and white. And
Mao and Bumpy are best friends - a B&W w/ Calico.
I have a theory that even numbers of cats work best. I'd
get her a companion. :-) I've even considered that as a
cure for Tymothee-trouble.

Maybe your cats prefer deeper, more meaningful relationships than
my superficial kids who only go for looks!! ;-)

| This may help. I have 5 cats , 2 are siamese. Ming (one of the
Siamese) is just like Misha(spelling?). She is very jealouse of
the other cats except for the other Siamese. She still spends quite
a bit of time alone but she sleeps curled up with the other Siamese
and sometimes they wash each other. I always attributed her behavoir
to being the first one we got. I thought she was probably upset
about the other siblings coming later, but she does seem to be
buddies with the other siamese.

Misha was my first cat too!! Did you introduce the other Siamese
later on or are they close in age. Misha is four years old now..

| Well, I got Sasha when she was 7 weeks from a breeder in Pelham,
NH, she is now 10 years old this month. KoKo came along when
Sasha was 2 and she took over raising KoKo. KoKo was very
tiny when we took her in (some folks next door had her and
were not treating her as we thought they should) - KoKo
was also about 6 or 7 weeks when she adopted us. KoKo is
now 8.

| I am going to talk this over at home as I am leaning in favor of
getting a pal for Misha...it also may even out the odd number as
well and maybe ease up the pecking order they have established
with Misha clearly at the bottom...poor little thing, she's such
a good kitty, I want her to be happy.
thak you for your help

| Fran, I assume you are going to talk this over with your husband
or SO? Reason I ask is because if you can get him to agree to letting
you even out the odd number, let me know how you did it! I've been
trying to convince my fiance to round out our current cat count
of 5 to 6 for quite some time no with no luck!! He keeps saying
that all five boys (neutered) get along so wonderfully and a sixth
could make for problems -- problems which would surely halt our
marriage plans in September!
Good luck!! I vote add another kitty for Misha!

with our brood there are a lot of problems in them getting along
so my husband is pretty open minded at this point about any
solution bring peace to the household. Two of the cats were
originally his and three were mine..so I've suggested a mutual
kitty :-)))))

| Out of the four Niniane and Charm, the two Siamese,
hang together. But they also were the "first two"
so to speak. Dream, who is an Oriental Shorthair,
bosses everyone around, and both Siamese are not
fond of her, but tolerate her. Boogie, my tabby,
gets along with everyone, but that seems to be the
Boogie way ;-)
