    >Does anyone else have a kitty who fights with its own reflection?

Our Tati has been doing that since we got her. She is about 2 and half
months old. Her favorite places are the dishwaher panel as well as the
stove. We now introduced her to a small stuffed bear that she seems to
love. (I didn't know that cats like bears!!!!). Anyway she fights it
and chews, throwing him in the air and looking at us to see if we are
    watching her.
We have been trying to take pictures of all this moments but sometimes she
    is just too quick!!

My cat does that too. I had my glasses on and I was holding him.
He saw his reflection in my glasses and started attacking my face
and glasses! I'm wearing contacts now.

| | Gee, I wish my cats would go after thei reflections - it sounds
hilarious! Neither one of them pays any attention if you sit her down
in front of a mirror. They will both sniff at it, and then ignore it -
I guess the reflection doesn't smell like a cat so it isn't worth
    chasing!

My late uncle used to raise bull terriers for show (small, powerful dogs
that could pull my uncle around a ring! - he was a BIG man, too), and
the dogs would go nuts if he showed home movies of the dog shows --
they definitely knew that the moving images on the screen were more
bull terriers, even if they didn't smell like dogs! - it was a scream!

| | Peaches, our orange and white shorthair likes to use the shiny black
front panel of the trash compactor or the dishwasher as his grooming
mirror. Doobie, our black and white long hair has to be frequently
combed/brushed to keep her from getting mats and so naturally Peaches
has to have his short hair brushed so he doesn't get "mats" either.
After brushing he goes and parks himself in front of either appliance
to admire how nice he looks. He is very fussy about how his fur
lays down and gets really upset if anyone "messes up his Orange".

Chrysalis hissed at her image the first time she saw it (that tiny
kitty poufed up a lot!), but now she just tries to figure out how
to get at the neat stuff on the other side. She's smart enough to
know she can't go through it, but she wants to go around...
	I haven't noticed Copernicus paying any attention to mirrors yet;
she'll probably turn tail and flee. Chrys is the only thing about
which she isn't skittish most of the time.

| | Well, I can't say any of ours have reacted to their reflection other
than to look behind the mirror, but they have reacted to various
stuffed and ceramic cats with hisses and growls.
A friend of mind gave me a stuffed russian blue cat with its
tail up and upon being introduced to Dundee, Dundee first
touched noses with the stuffed cat and then smelled its bum!

| | Yes, it is hilarious to watch them respond to reflections!! My kitten,
Party, first got hooked on his reflection on the tile on the wall
in the bathroom (it's very shiny and black); but the best was his
response to the reflection he saw on the tv screen!! He would
run forward on the bed and charge at the tube!! He still does!!
He even turned the tv on once by pawing near the control button!
    What a reaction that got!!
